This 470 page book was filled with emotion and God's lessons. Very sweet, clean Christian book that paints beautiful pictures in your mind. The depth of character the author has artfully woven for everyone makes you feel like you personally know them by the end of the book. While this book was free, the others in this series are over my budget at this time even though I would love to learn more about the characters from this book in addition to the new residents of Gresham.

THIS BOOK HAS IT ALL, EXCITING AND ROMANTIC WITHOUT THE TRASH.

I enjoyed this book so much that I went out of my way to be certain to read the whole series. Takes one back to another time/place; one we will never see again. Truly a pleasure to read.

Really enjoyed reading this book. It was encouraging and uplifting. Great intimacy but NO sexual interaction. I'll probably read it again, will stay on Nook.

I loved this book and just started on the next one. The characters are so like-able and authentic. Somewhat called to mind the Mitford series I read years ago, but stands on its own merits. One of the best of this genre that I've read in a long time.

This was an enjoyable read. The characters were developed well and were true to character and setting as the plot developed. While some "historical" fiction puts present day trends and values in 19th century settings, The Widow of Larkspur Inn was refreshing. These people could have lived in the setting and time described. I'll gladly read more books by this author.

I liked the overall content. It accurately depicted the historical time. I liked the idea that it was a romance novel without being trashy.

Big fan of historical fiction. Read this book because it was free, ended up liking it a lot. I personally would have been driven crazy if I was placed in the position of the heroine of the story.

Well-written Christian-themed fiction based in 1870's England. Thank you Nook Free Friday for a super title! Now I have to get the other titles in the Gresham series! Great marketing idea...give away the first in the series and readers will want to buy the rest!

I didn't think I would like this book as much as I did. It is one of those books that draws you in without you even knowing it. Loved it.

LOVED this book so much that I had to buy the other two books in the series! Enjoyed how the book portrays hardship and the overcoming of hardship through belief in God, self, and others. Very strong characters, great descriptions of the area the story takes place in, as well as the time period. Set in England.

I loved this book, the story, the characters, everything about it. As a mother of three children, I related to the challenges of raising children with very different personalities, and related to the financial struggle the widow faced, even though I am not a widow. I found strength and encouragement in this book, through the examples of true friendships, and that you reap what you sow. If you treat others with Christioan love, it will come back to you. I recommend this book to anyone who needs to be encouraged and reminded of God's faithfulness to provide for all our needs, even those concerning our hearts.
