    Highly recommended

    Ten years ago our daughter lost her husband to an automobile accident. Together we found and read Joyce Brothers "Widowed". In this book Dr. Brothers relates in detail her own personal grief, then recovery, after her husbands death. Since then I have given this book to many friends who have lost a loved one. The book brought understanding and hope to my daughter and to my friends. It is an outstanding book on the subject.

    The best book to have if you're recently widowed!

    I lost my husband to a massive heart attack on May 15, 2009. We had just been out to dinner and he went outside for a minute and never came back. I found him in the yard.
    While Dr. Brothers husband died of cancer and much slower, EVERYTHING she went through was covered in such detail and it was almost like I was writing the book. All of our experiences were the same, and the same feelings. I wish I had this book in the beginning. I read many others that were good, but none were as close to what I was experiencing as Dr. Brothers. EXCELLENT book!!!

    Widowed was just what I needed

    My wonderful husband/best friend died at age 47 of liver failure. We'd been married 20.4 years. I was struggling so much with my emotions and feeling so overwhelmed. I found this book and it was JUST what I needed! I had the same thoughts as Dr. Brothers and realized I wasn't going crazy and that CRYING is a part of the grieving process and actually good for me. I'd like to thank her for sharing her intimate experience as it has helped me tremendously! I'm going to give as a gift to anyone else I know that becomes a widow!

    Like looking into a mirror at the grieving process

    I lost my husband at age 40 we had only been married 10 years, but the things that Dr. Brothers wrote about were the same things I went through. I have given this book to many friends who have lost their spouses. I recommend it to anyone who has lost a spouse or has a friend who has lost a spouse.
