Too bad his last best hope is an actress who tries to mace him with perfume when he offers her the role of a lifetime. Lindy Knight is a real sap. She loves too hard, feels too deep, and often finds herself saying yes when she should be saying “Let me think about it.” She can’t believe her good fortune when Owen offers her more than enough money to hold off foreclosure until she can find a job. Three weeks at a resort, money she desperately needs, and she gets to help bring a criminal to justice? Score. It seems easy enough until a couples bonding game turns intimate, and they realize how dangerous their mutual attraction could be. Can they keep their hands to themselves long enough to find the evidence Owen needs? Or are the close quarters more temptation than they can handle?

Sexy, Witty, & Delightful Contemporary Romance!

What a delightful read this story was & I'm glad that I got the pleasure of reading it. This was the first work by Christine Bell that I've read & from my impression of this book it won't be my last. The blurb gives a thorough summary of the story so I won't repeat it. What I will say about Wife for Hire is that it was a great read overall. Within minutes of reading, I knew that Christine Bell is a talented author. She captivated me with her writing early on & her characters were engaging. Lindy & Owen were realistically written, in-depth and likeable. I immediately loved Lindy from the beginning. She was witty; sweet; wore her heart on her sleeve and possessed a heart of gold. Owen was also a great character; sexy, sweet, rich, has a sexy accent, but damaged too. Having a damaged past, he doesn't let anyone in. But Lindy is different from other women and for him, she's a breath of fresh air. However, he's not the 'forever' type of man which often set a painful reminder for Lindy throughout their charade as husband and wife. However, one thing was for certain; their chemistry was undeniable and the sexual tension just sizzles between these two. Furthermore, the story flowed smoothly which made Wife for Hire an easy read. I enjoyed the dialogue in this story as well as the plot & storyline which were both well-developed. Wife for Hire had me eagerly turning the pages & before I knew it, I had finished Wife for Hire in a day. Christine also wrapped this story up beautifully with a pretty bow on top & left me satisfied with a smile. Overall, Wife for Hire was a funny, sexy, charming and highly enjoyable read. With that said, I have no hesitation in recommending this book to others. DISCLAIMER: I received a free copy of this book in exchange for a candid/honest review.

Funny dialogue, great characters, this was a blast to read! Owen is sexy, Lindy is adorable, and I hope this winds up being a series, because the side characters were all worthy of their own books.

    Great read!

This was a really good book! The characters were easy to fall in love with and it had a really great plot. The romance part of it wasn't over the top (cough Fifty Shades of Grey cough) but it was just enough to keep you exhilaratingly interested.

Love this book! I've been a huge fan of Christine Bell's for quite a while now and always rush out to buy her newest release. WIFE FOR HIRE was no exception. It's deliciously fun and sexy with just enough suspense to keep me flipping the pages. And Owen... *sigh* Can't wait for the next book in the series!

    Good Read

I just resd Down For The Count and looked into other books by this author. Although this genre has been written numerous times, this book had a twist of it's own. The book was good, kept you entertained and the characters were well written and played. My money well spent!!!!

    Talent wasted

Within pages I was hooked- interesting characters- amusing story line , romance- mystery I wanted a quick read, didn't care if the romance was predictable (the mystery was well concealed) 3 chapters were delightful----but the remaining ones kept me shaking my head- The author spent most of her time spelling out visions of desire- Really? How many different ways can you describe an erection? You are wasting your talent .....

Guaranteed Smile-maker I have no clue why, but stories that star

    Guaranteed Smile-maker
I have no clue why, but stories that start with “He needed a wife…” always get to me. I like the idea of two unlikely people getting together. Although, it’s never a realistic scenario (sadly even in this one) doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy it, right? Cause I sure did. I liked the characters and I liked the scenario, but there were a lot of things that fit the status-quo of this type of story-line. He’s rich, her money sitch is pretty bad, but, of course, she’s good-hearted. She wants the commitment, he can’t commit because of his parents bad relationship/his not-so-great dad. Sadly, it was typical that way. However, the characters were interesting and the story line did surprisingly keep me on my toes. There were some unexpected twists, and the mystery was pretty well concealed until its was finally revealed. There wasn’t a lot of “clues” as the story was focused on Owen and Lindy’s attraction for one another, and, of course, other people tell them that they are interested in each other, but the both deny it. I did like Owen—the guy who straight up tells Lindy that he is hot for her, and if she questions his man-hood in front of other people he plans on proving her wrong. *Swoon. And then there is the Lindy who sticks to her guns until she sees reason. She really did hold out for a while. Longer than I would have.
    Good:
Lindy—An independent and an overall caring person.
Owen—A good guy who is loyal to his family and those he cares about.
    Bad:
The plot was a little predictable
Overall (Writing style, story line, and general):
Overall the story was easy to read. There was no having to re-read things because I didn’t quite get it, or understand it. No, no, things came across pretty clear. The book was romantic and the characters were interesting, but I did wish there was a little bit more humour. What can I saw I like to laugh. Overall, Christine Bell lifted you off your feet into a romantic adventure; the kind that you will sit down and read because you know you will like it. A guaranteed smile-maker.

    Less than 250pages

By the time I hit pages #131 i figured out it was missing pages numbers.. Although the pages blended into the next it would go from page 13 to page 15. I had to reread to make sure I didnt miss anything.
