WILD AND UNRULY has a unique twist on time travel which adds a new dimension to this love story. When Lillian wakes up to find herself the purveyor of a local Old West brothel her life changes in more ways than she can imagine. She soon finds her attraction to the sheriff is mutual and while adapting to life in a different century, she and the sheriff begin an intimate relationship. Their liaison would raise eyes in her modern times but is highly forbidden in his time. Not knowing if she is merely dreaming or has actually been transplanted, Lillian doesn’t know how long she has with Jake. The book keeps you wondering – will they realize their love? When they’ll act on it? Will the social mores of the 1800s keep them apart or the different time of their births? How far will they go to be together? Can they find a time and place to share? These and more questions will keep you reading – seeking the answers. You’ll like Jake, Lillian and their friends. WILD AND UNRULY was a pleasant, enjoyable story, well worth reading.

Received from the publisher by MY BOOK ADDICTION AND MORE for an honest review.

Wild and unruly, but soft and gentle!

I have just finished reading Amanda McIntyre's firts book of the Tales of Sweet Magnolia, called "Wild and Unruly". I love a time-travel romance but I never tought that I would like reading a time-travel coutry romance. I loved Lillian! she is the head Librarian at the 1st Library of Virgina and she dreams of finding "her Cowboy". She loves reading books of the Wild West. After finding at the library, a necklace in an ancient small wooden box, she wakes up in 1800 as a Madam in a bordello. Thinking she is living her dream fantasy, she lives it at the fullness. She meets this charming Jake. I loved Jake! he is a dark and handsome sheriff, with a tenderness side, who would do anything for her, but keeping up apperances is also important to him. They feel strangely attracted to each other....I do not want to reveal to much, because I feel you must read it to find out what happens next. This is the first time I read a book by Amanda McIntyre and I truly enjoyed reading "Wild and Unruly". I find it's a funny romantic time-travel romance. It is well written. I will definitely be reading more books by Ms. McIntyre.

Enjoyed it but wish it was further developed!

Review by Sarah L: As I sit down to write this review, I find myself conflicted. The storyline was good and I felt a connection with Lil and Jake. The conundrum is that there was a lot glossed over that I would have liked to have seen developed more.

I understand the role Burt played initially in modern times but when he interacted with Jake in the past it seemed confusing and hard to follow. The initial scene between Jake and Lil when he wakes her up and she comes to realize she has travelled back in time is handled well but how about Lil's transition? We hear very little about it. How does she handle the adjustment? The potential for some interesting and possibly even humorous moments were lost.

The focus on Jake's "reputation" seemed a bit out of place as well. I can certainly understood the women of the town not wanting to associate with the women from the bordello but a sheriff in the wild west being so concerned about his reputation was a first for me. I understand about the election for Deputy Marshall and his father being a strict minister but regardless, it didn't seem to fit with his character.

Bottom line, I enjoyed the story and it kept me interested however there were several areas that could have been further developed.

    Time-travel to romantic old west...

Lillian is bit obsessed with the wild west, the cowboys and the lifestyle, but as it stands she's a librarian, and one night the janitor finds a wooden box with a necklace inside it, Lil takes it home with her enchanted by the engravings into jewelry box. She plans to find its owner after the weekend - but she can't help but to try it on. She wakes up 130 years in the past as the madam of a Sweet Magnolia, a bar, gambling joint and bordello, with a tall, dark and handsome sheriff banging on her bedroom door.
    -
What is she supposed to think and do when she cannot get home and Jake, the sheriff and preacher's son seems to be more than just smitten with her? Which one becomes a dream and which reality when there is no way out of the Wild West and perhaps no desire to leave...
    -
I really liked this book, I wanted to read something a little different, but still stay true to my love of Paranormal (time-travel), Cowboys (old west) and romance (there sure was some!) and this sure fit the bill well!
    -
I loved the idea of a librarian obsessed by the old west gets sucked into 130 years back to a small town and she makes her life there is a madam of a bordello. Have to say I've never crossed paths with anything like this before, and it was a joy to read!
    -
I liked Lil and loved Jake, of course who wouldn't, a rugged, tall, dark and handsome sheriff who goes against everything his preacher father tried to teach him and follows his heart to Lil time after time, against "better judgments" of the towns people.
    -
This will be a good read for historical romance lovers, and those of us who enjoy time-travel with erotic romance flair! Definately worth reading!
