Meet the Author

Melody Thomas is a wordsmith, a creator of dreams, and a passionate believer in happy endings. A product of thirteen schools and twenty-two moves stretching across the United States and Europe, she is a self-proclaimed gypsy. Her fascination with historical romance began when, in her teens, she visited the Tower of London and learned that Henry the Eighth had beheaded two of his wives. This was great fodder for her teenage imagination and the start of a love affair with history, intrigue, and irresistible heroes.

    exhilarating Victorian romantic espionage thriller

In 1874 American heiress Cassandra Sheridan attends her betrothal ball in Hamstead, England, but instead of a joyous festive affair, the colonist is upset as her fiancé, whom she has never met, fails to arrive. Though she knows this is an arranged match between her family money and his title as an Earl, she thinks Devlyn St. Clair is a pompous selfish cad probably womanizing. Rather than sit around wondering about the rogue she is engaged to marry, the steel spine Yank decides to journey to Scotland. During her quest she meets a dashing scoundrel, who vows to keep her safe even before he realizes that she is his American fiancée Cassie. Though she knows she should detest him, Cassie falls in love with her companion who reciprocates her feelings. However, he must complete his mission as a British spy in a cat and mouse game with the notorious Russians, Nicholas Ivanov and his consortium cohorts as the Cossack thirsts for an eye for an eye with Cassie being the perfect revenge for Devlyn killing his son though that was in the line of duty. --- WILD AND WICKED IN SCOTLAND is an exhilarating Victorian romantic espionage thriller starring a delightful intrepid heroine and the spy who came out of the cold due to her love for him. The story line is fast-paced as Devlyn knows he will do anything to keep Cassie safe as he fears that the duplicitous clever Russian knows his weakness and will exploit it she is the cheese that his adversary will move and manipulate and murder if it would destroy him. Melody Thomas provides fabulous one sitting historical thriller. ---Harriet Klausner

    The best in years.

This was a great read. The story is interest ing, exciting and believable. Cassandra and Devlin are the most beautiful, romantic and intelligent characaters to grace a romance book in too many years. This is a keeper.

This book isn't really any good. It was just ok. There was not

This book isn't really any good. It was just ok. There was nothing in the book that really draws you in to it, hook line and sinker. That extra something that just pulls you in and you can do nothing but just love everything about it...the main characters, the plot, and even the villian/s. Nothing in this book really meshed well, it kind of became a story that was thrown together that just so happened to come out to be a some what coherent finished product. There was nothing about the book that sucks you in so much that you become reluctant to put it down. I have stayed up till 5 in the morning ready books because they just draw me in so much that I CANT put them down not even to sleep. I want books that pulls on all of your emotions that when a character cry I cry, another one laughs I want to laugh, get angry, feel fear that someone might not make it... you feel along with them, all their happinesses and their sadnesses. This book came up short on all accounts. I was very disappointed after reading all the other reviews...it is not as good as everyone else claimed it to be. Im not even completely finished (40pgs to go) and I really don't want to finish, not even to just figure out how it ends. I really would have liked to give it only 2 1/2 stars, ppl don't waste your money.

    Wonderful!

I am the first to admit, I LOVE trashy romance novels, and this one had it all-sex in the woods, espionage, and an Earl. If you like books that you'd be ashamed for your grandmother to see you reading, then this one is for you!

    Western/Scotland/007 Book

This was a wonderful read! Delightfully different. Full of espionage, murder, romance and western, too. I could read it again and pick up on things I'm sure I missed.
