Wild Hearts

Like father, like son…like mother?

FAMILY TIES

One long-ago sultry summer had forever changed Jett Kendrick's life. One minute he was riding rodeo and loving sweet Kathy Patterson with all his cowboy heart. The next, he was fighting for the son whose young mother had cruelly abandoned him…. Or so he thought.

Sixteen years later, the memories from Burnt River still haunted Kathleen Patterson. But some things never changed…like Jett. He was still so ruggedly irresistible—still the man who'd broken her heart. But she was drawn to him like never before, determined to settle the past once and for all. And then she met Jett's son….

Wild Hearts. Wild at heart and hard to hold, they can only be tamed by true love….

Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
When Kathleen Patterson returns to her small Montana hometown after 16 years, the last person she expects to see first is the living son of her teenage lover, Jett Kendrick, especially when her own baby, fathered by Jett, had died around the same time this boy was being conceived. Kathy and Jett get beyond the yelling and bad memories, though, and find themselves drawn into an adult version of their teenage love affair. Jett must reveal a dreadful secret to her, and the resulting cataclysmic emotions almost destroy the progress the two grown-ups have made until they start to act like ones. A competent retelling of the almost too-familiar had-I-but-known plot, with the exceptionally good sex scenes Horton (What Are Friends For?, Harlequin, 1995) is known for. She lives in British Columbia.-MKC
