Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly - Publisher's Weekly
``A powerful story of children left homeless after the Russian Revolution,'' declared PW, reviewing this award-winner by the gifted poet and author. Holman's novel is rooted in actual events and, through 12-year-old Alex, the reader experiences the tragedy of uncared-for boys and girls in the aftermath of war. (1014)

The greatest and only historical fiction book I¿ve read for a book report

I liked that the book was a little challenging because the author used Russian words and had the definitions in the glossary. I enjoyed the ending of the book because it was so informing of what kids had to go through to get away from the cold and hunger in Russia. I also learned what life was like in Russia in the 1920's and how different their life was then than it is now in Russia. I learned that their life was completely based on staying warm and finding food and staying alive. From the book I learned to never take things for granted and that you should always be thankful for what you get.

    The wild children

This book makes a clear vision of what kids actually go through and how country's are so different. Instead of judging people that you dont know by there appearence take a deeper look. this book taught me how lucky we are for what we have and we should be more appreciative than we are.

    Best Book for Young Adults

Wild Children contains moral lesson not only for children but also for adults. This is a great novel that you dont want to miss. Wild children or also called the bezprizorni shows the weakness of the past government.
