Castaña Castillo bucked the sadness of her traditional ethnic upbringing and fled Arizona, becoming a passionate and successful horse trainer in Texas. But when a mysterious woman calls and tells her her estranged brother Martin is missing, she loads her trailer and heads for Arizona, determined to find him and repair their broken relationship.
Martin, like their father, dedicated his life to advocating for and protecting Arizona’s wild horses, even breaking laws and confronting Bureau of Land Management agents to assure the safety of his beloved mustangs. C can only pray that his activist stance hasn’t resulted in his permanent ‘disappearance.
FBI agent Jake Breton finds himself in Castaña’s path literally when he stumbles out into the road after his camp is destroyed and he becomes dehydrated and disoriented trying to reach civilization. Jake has been given one last chance to correct an error on his last case. He can bring Martin Castillo in for questioning, or he can leave the agency.
Tackling the mystery of Martin’s disappearance bring Jake and Castaña together, in spite of the guilt Jake feels over hiding his real identity from a woman he quickly comes to admire--and want.
Sizzling love-making and an intriguing story full of twists create a memorable journey through Arizona’s wild horse country. Jake and Castaña will intrigue readers, who will try to solve a host of puzzling events along with them and the memorable supporting cast.
Ms. Lindun has an admirable grasp of southwestern traditions and cultures, and all things horse-related, and Wild Horses comes home another winner.

For horse lovers and romantic suspense lovers.
I am first, and foremost, a horse lover. Secondly, a suspense lover with romance thrown in. When both of those loves are combined, I'm on happy reader. Wild Horses was a mix of both and D'Ann Lindun--horsewoman that she is--did a wonderful job on this novel. The plot reveals were paced well and kept you guessing. While not like my typical thriller-type reads where you're taken on a breath-stealing race, Wild Horses made for a great who-dun it read while traveling.

A very suspenseful story of love with the twists of a page-turner. Wild horses' backstory about the wild mustangs and the strong sense of scenery is skillfully depicted by D'Ann Lindun and puts right in the middle of everything. Was this review helpful? An unforgettable ride! Wild Horses by D’Ann Lindun is a tale of suspense, intrigue and love, told in a setting on the outskirts of a small town in Arizona where wild horses still run free. The story revolves around the plight of the native mustangs, and the man who tries to protect and save them from a government that would capture and sell them for slaughter. Castana Castillo is a headstrong, independent woman who returns to her childhood home to search for her missing brother. She soon discovers that not only is he missing, he’s also wanted for murder. Jake Breton is the FBI agent sent to bring him in. These two cross paths suddenly when Jake, suffering from sunstroke, is nearly run down as he stumbles in front of her vehicle. This chance meeting of fate puts the two on a collision course that will lead them on a journey filled with danger, death and deceit—and an unexpected love affair. Although our hero and heroine are at odds over the guilt or innocence of her missing brother, developing clues and emotions give both reasons to doubt their own convictions.
Wild Horses is an enjoyable read filled with unexpected twists and turns. The author’s clear description of places, characters and circumstances gives the reader a perfect sense of being a part of the story.

D'Ann Lindun has a winner with this story. FBI hero undercover.
Strong, confident heroine. Both wanting one thing, to find the
heroine's brother. But for completely different reasons. I love that
the heroine knows her brother skirts the edge of the law, if not
totally breaks it. But she still loves him. The story weaves a
picture of an Arizona I want to visit, even if just through reading

Stunning imagery, unexpected twists, and hidden motives make Wild Horses an enjoyable ride. Castaña is especially compelling. Her back story and motives are handled skillfully. I loved learning about the plight of mustangs and I think the author did a great job of presenting different points of view on the matter. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Castana Castillo and Jake Breton couldn't be more mis-matched as the main characters in Wild Horses. Castana is bound by family loyalty to find and save her brother, a wild horse activist. Jake is bound by the law to bring Castana's brother to justice - dead or alive. This is the set-up for Wild Horses, a story that pulls you in from the first sentence. D'Ann Lindun's writing takes you right into the Arizona forest and the burning attraction between Castana and Jake. If you love reading about strong heroines and the men who stand beside them, this is definitely a book for you.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Wild Horses by D’Ann Lindun is full of intrigue. Twists and turns meet the reader around every corner as Jake and Castaña search the wilderness for Castaña’s missing brother. The mystery is compelling, as is the sexual tension between the hero and heroine. And the plight of the mustang herd springs from the page and grips the reader by her heart strings.
