Wild Root

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Richie Unterberger
Half of these 1958 sessions mix past members of the Herd with new ones, on remakes of old Herman charts. These swing pretty respectably, but more interesting are the four cuts from a December 26, 1958 session with Charlie Byrd as featured guitrarist. These have a Latin flavor that pushes the music into more exciting territory; "Bamba Samba" is a particularly lively effort in this direction.
