I am new to tarot, but I had always wanted a deck so I had been shopping around for the "right" set. When I stumbled on this on in the store I could not believe my luck. I took it home and meditated with the cards before I did a reading for myself and the answer that I received left me speechless. I use it all the time now, which surprised me because I have always been drawn to runes, but this deck is fantastic and so full of wisdom that I can't put it down! I cannot recommend this deck highly enough! Blessed be.
A wonderful set of cards for the beginner and experienced user alike! The cards are well made and fit nicely in your hands. They 'feel' good and are a delight to use. The illustrations are mystical and amazing. You could buy it just to look at the cards alone and it would be great value for the money. The book itself is a treasure trove of knowledge containing not only a 'how to' but explanations of the symbolism involved (each card has it's own page of description) and an explanation of the Celtic Wheel Of The Year. Several types of layouts for readings are also given along with the encouragement to try the way best for you. The Wildwood Tarot is a definite value for your money without question.
I was planning to do an important reading and knew that I needed a special deck. I wanted this deck so badly that I even went to the B&N store and paid full price ($20, as opposed to the $10 online price) because I wanted to use it that same day. I was not disappointed! The cards are beautiful, and the companion guide is enlightening and welcoming. I tried one of the spreads in the companion guide and I loved it. The reading was deeply insightful, and as I turned over each card it was like I was being pulled deeper and deeper into the Wildwood. I highly recommend this deck. The only thing that was slightly difficult for me was the court cards, because they are represented by animals (and I am fairly new to tarot).
