Will A Man Rob God?by Patricia D Thompson Green
As Christians today, living in the last days, the body of Christ is tempted to believe a lie rather than the truth because of implied treats; however, God is rising up men and women who will dare to stand up and speak their God given views from the pulpit to the back door. From reading this book "Will A Man Rob God" it appears that the principle of tithing is still holding many Christians handcuff and in bondage as if we are still under the Law and therefore robbing God.
Many men and women of God are giving their hard earn money to Christian leaders for the purpose of enhancing His kingdom. Being taken advantage of by requiring each member to give their last dollar rather than pay their utility bills or put food on the table all in the name of God. In the church only a few are chosen and screen carefully before giving their testimony. This selected few passionately render a personal testimony affirming blessings for tithing and cursing for those who do not. Cursing such as, health, financial, marital and many others by not tithing. If everyone would be allowed to testify and tell the real truth, a different story would be told.
Second Timothy Chapter 2 verse 15 states, "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly diving the word to truth." Are we studying the Word of God, as we should and are we rightly dividing the scriptures? Joseph Prince, in his book, Destined to Reign, puts it this way "When you read the Bible, be sure to read everything with its context, because when you take the "text" out of its "context," what you are left with is a "con!"
Many people are decreasing financially while others are increasing financially and are afraid to question the practice of tithe in their church for fear of retribution from leaders; but, this book provides an extensive analysis of biblical principles as it pertains to tithe. The author cuts through to the morrow of opinions, traditions, superstitions, false doctrine and benefits that are just not true. The author uses scholarly evidence, biblical texts, and other pertinent sources with the intent of understanding the meaning of tithe. Thereby revealing depths of information to those who refuse to continue being blinded by vain philosophy.
There is no doubt that the Old Testament clearly taught tithe and required the people of that day to pay tithe, however does the New Testament support the concept of tithe and does it suggest the paying of tithe as it did in the Old Testament? You will find in this examination of the scriptures, tithe was a requirement for Old Testament Christians, tithe are not a requirement for New Testament Christian, and those who argue in favor of tithe for today are basing their arguments on a systematic theological considerations that is an exegetical evidence. Also, one will find that the New Testament Christians are required to give, not tithe.
This book is guaranteed to challenge your belief about Tithe. You will journey to Damascus and become converted as you read this remarkable book. Dr. Green has written a biblical case that provides an extensive investigative analysis of tithe that is probably the best book ever written and will shake up the Church and it's teaching since Martin Luther Thesis. However if one desires to continue to practice the tithe concept nothing is wrong in itself of that. My emphases are placed on the New Testament teaching of Grace.
