Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Heather Welsh
Will Allen and his fellow monster detectives are back in the second book of the "Will Allen" series. This time, Will is no longer an apprentice. He is trying out his newfound monster-hunting skills on his own. This proves to be more difficult than he had originally thought. You see, every monster is created in the mind of the child who is afraid of them. Therefore, every monster has its own set of rules, and that's where Will's detective abilities come in. He has to figure out where the monsters are and what they want before he can defeat them. Luckily Will's mentor, Bigelow Hawkins, hasn't abandoned him. Will's buddies Timmy and Jeannine are also willing to come along for the ride. That's good news because Will is going to face a formidable opponent the very first time he tries out his detective talents. Even the bravest detective would cower in the presence of a fire-breathing, shape-shifting monster that knows its prey's innermost fears. Will this monster-hunting trio get it together in time to put this beast away for good? Reviewer: Heather Welsh
