Dianne Jacob, a journalist and food-writing instructor, has been writing about food for twenty years. She is the coauthor of Grilled Pizzas & Piadinas and lives in Oakland, California.

Pretty good but a little too pop psych for me with all the cute little anecdotes cluttering the pages. There were some good tips but I really want to get past cute tips and get some real and practical information (the book that eventually got me published was called How to Write about Food: How to Become a Published Restaurant Critic, Food Journalist, Cookbook Author, and Food Blogger). This author seems to have built a whole career out of this one book so good on her, but a more well-rounded author may have been more helpful.

Not helpful. Lots of stories but not a lot of help. Great if you want empty sizzle but forget it if you want some steak. I got another book that actually helped. Avoid.
