Doody's Review ServiceReviewer: Anthony Shanks, MD (Washington University School of Medicine)
Description: This is a study guide for Williams Gynecology, 2nd edition, Hoffman et al. (McGraw-Hill, 2012).
Purpose: The purpose is to quiz and engage readers as they follow along in the textbook. The authors do a good job of fulfilling their objectives.
Audience: The questions are targeted at resident physicians.
Features: The study guide uses a multiple choice format for questions in sections on benign general gynecology, reproductive endocrinology, pelvic medicine, oncology, and surgery. The questions mirror the main textbook and include references to page numbers for detailed discussions of the topic. Pictures are appropriate and well done.
Assessment: This is a nice study guide to accompany the textbook. It is a good acquisition for residents who also purchase the textbook.
