Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
The sweet fifth installment of Blake’s (Holly Lane) Destiny contemporary series offers the captivating story of bookstore owner Amy Bright. The matchmaker of tiny Destiny, Ohio, Amy has come up empty in her own search for love. She believes her friends’ happy endings will never happen for her—until a longtime friend, firefighter Logan Whitaker, kisses her in a drunken moment. As Amy realizes she is in love with her best friend, a complication arrives: Anna Romo, who disappeared from town at age five. Logan asks Amy to set him up with the “arrestingly beautiful” Anna, and Amy feels certain she can’t compete. Her friends provide a makeover and help devise secret notes to Logan, changing things dramatically. Suggestive love scenes befit the Austen theme and, though this is no easy road to happily-ever-after, it’s impossible not to empathize with and cheer for Amy in this charming tale. Agent: Meg Ruley & Christina Hogrebe, Jane Rotrosen Agency. (July)

I love this series. This one was aweful. Unrealistic actually. The crazy 34 yr old virgin cat lady wins the sexy firemen over the younger sexy aggressive new girl. Not in real life, I had a hard time finishing this one. I have loved Toni Blakes other books, but didn't find this one as passionate as the previous books. Sorry

I love it when an author keeps going in a series and previous characters are woven into the new book. However, I found Amy to be over the top annoying about Logan and his career choices. She was like a dog with a bone and would not step back. He was amazing to put up with it.

I've read all the ones in this series & yes I would recomend. The only thing is like in this one when Amys thinking about things it takes 5 or 6 pages to get back to the dialog. I wish all of em had more dialog and less describing things. Other than that I love her stories & the sex scenes are good. The best to me were the 1st book One Reckless Summer, jenny & micks story. Start with that one for sure & Lucky &Tessas was just sweet as hell.

I was looking forward to amys story since i started the series, and found Amys character ( who is usually fun an interesting) to be extremly annoying and pathetic. Very disappointing!

Of all the Destiny books this was a true let down. It was boring and I could have cared less about the characters. I found Destiny to be very boring and "Amy" to be less than boring ...almost pathetic and I don't think that was the intent. I just wanted her to crawl back to the book store and live with her cats FOREVER.

Amy Bright is the best match-maker in Destiny, Ohio, but has no love life of her own. Until one night she's kissed, and she falls head over heels in love with her best friend, Logan Whitaker. But Logan has his own demons he's trying to work out, and are these two ready to take that leap from friends to... more? The first half of this book was hauntingly sweet and addicting. The second half just seemed to be filled with miscommunication and weak conflict. Very strange dialog too. In saying that, friends to lovers plots are hard to pull off, and this felt realistically done. This is my first book by Blake, and I probably won't hesitate to buy more. She has a real knack for underlying emotions and setting her scene. The secondary characters pulled this through.

It's about time Amy got her story. Alwaysvthe bridesmaid is so true for this character. I'm glad she grew in this story. She found her confidence and self worth. Logan may have list his way but he figured it out. I love returning to Destiny. Ms Blake tells such wonderful stories.

This was my least favorite of the series. Logan and Amy just lacked chemistry. Logan never really never seemed attracted to Amy beyond a friend (except the last 5 pages). This book had potential but it really never took off. I loved the other books so this was disappointing.

I have read all the Destiny, Ohio Series Books. And this book was one of my favorites, all though I loved them all. The character, Amy Bright, was so lovable and sweet. I wish more people could be as open to possibilities as the people in this series of romantic relationships.

This was a pretty deep book about love, loss, friendship, loyalty and so much emotion at every level... This has been a wonderful series that has kept me up late at night for a week as I have been unable to put down any of the five I have read... Logan and Amy were made for each other, grew up next door to each other and had been best friends forever... But could they make the leap to forever with so many things seemingly keeping them apart... In this story your heart will break and then it will soar... Beautiful story, wonderful characters and very excellent writing... Definitely 5 Stars!

I absolutely love the Destiny series and the stories. This was a very good story about lifetime friends - Logan and Amy - moving to the next step. I was a bit disappointed at how hard it was for this couple to come together....Logan was actually on my last nerve and my heart broke for Amy. I am guessing that is what Toni Blake was going for. Although, her storytelling puts the reader right in the middele of the story - so my chest hurt and I cried. Also, amazing twist for the Romo family and a long lost reunion!!
