    An excellent reference work.

I have some 30 years of computer experience and I find Ed Bott's books to be very useful to me in using the OS. Every time that I pick it up I find something that I either did not know or had forgotten about. Very helpful.

    more from this reviewer

Good as it Get's for a Reference book

Have not read it cover to cover, probably will not.
But every time I open it I learn something and fine what I need to know.
    Great Book.

A must for the new Windows 7 user who wants to get a good understanding of the software.

Clear and easy to understand and follow. A lot of information that goes past the basics of the typical "screen shots with follow the numbers" approach books but not so much detail that the nontechnical reader will get lost. I found it very useful in the areas where the authors recommended places to fine tune and customize and areas best left alone.

Good start for going from XP Windows to Windows 7

Worth the money. A faily objective book even for Microsoft. Normally I buy Que (publisher), but this was better. Never thought I would say that about Microsoft. Usually their arrogance gets the best of them. They actually admitted their problems.

One of my main needs was to run programs that only run on XP. I found I needed a new uP (new computer)and atleast Win7 Professional for transparent operation (not having to reboot).

Hope you find it as useful as I did.

    Not clear enough

I am still having touble with Windows 7 but I really went from Windows XP to 7 which is a big step. Maybe I will understand it better after the Holidays. I am going to look for a class or a teacher to give me an overview of "libraries" which seems to be my main problem.

Still have not received the book

I ordered this book quite some time ago about a month I believe and still have not received the book. I'm sure it has plenty of useful information in it but I would have to receive the book to say for sure.

    Good Book and Good Service

BN was prompt and on time. Their service was/is very good. I will continue ordering books from BN. The book contains important stuff that I needed to know when setting up and configuring my new computer with Win7. It is an excellent reference book.

Great bible of the Windows 7 OS

The information we gathered from the manual/book was and is being used to provide customer service for some of the less frequent problems that are present in the Windows OS

    Great Reference

I also bought this book to help in my transition from XP to Windows 7. I have a 25 year background in the computer field so I was looking for a more technical view point. This is a great book for the above average Windows user. I probabky would not recommend it for the general reader/computer user.
