I just ordered my first laptop (not a touch screen), and I've go

I just ordered my first laptop (not a touch screen), and I've got a lot of anxiety over learning Windows 8.  I've only heard bad things about it.  I went in to my local BN to check out the books on Windows 8, and I spent about an hour perusing them.  I picked one topic, then I looked to see how different books explained it.  I liked this book the best of all.  It''s not too wordy, but it gives you a paragraph about the topic, which I didn't think was too technical, then it gives you screen shots and step by step directions.
I like the way it's broken down by topic.  I am not AT ALL tech-saavy, and I was looking for something easy and understandable.  My daughter suggested one of the books for "seniors" (I'm 57 and was only slightly offended), but none of them was as good as this one.  I decided to order it online b/c it is more than $10 cheaper.  I have not actually used the book yet, but in comparison to the others, it looks great.  I will update with another review in a week or two when I have actually used it.

    Not so simplified

The non techno person that would purchase this, is not going to feel this is simplified. Like all Geeks, the author uses computer "language" to explain with. Greek to me in the parts I need help with. Also the illustrations of what your screen looks like are SO SMALL, and fuzzy..... Pretty sure I wasted my $. I am trying to read it on my Nook Color. That was the whole point to learn more when I am waiting somewhere or not in my office.....
