Overview

"Product knowledge is the answer to the million dollar question, 'What's a good wine?'" -Kalani Tom, Sommelier.

Is The Wine Code for you? Chances are good that it is. On some level, you're hoping this book will finally demystify the world of wine and give you the confidence to pick out a great wine on your own. Well, guess what? The Wine Code does exactly that.

The Wine Code is the first and only wine book that lists every major grape from every major wine growing region in the world, making it easy for you to identify what's inside a bottle of wine before you buy it. When I first started to learn about wine I was completely overwhelmed. There is so much information, yet none of it ever seems to tie together. That’s why I created The Wine Code. Learning about wine is no easy task but it doesn’t have to be that hard either. Similar to learning a new language, mastering the world of wine requires an effective learning method. The Wine Code is that method.

The introduction to The Wine Code addresses many basic questions such as: What does Old World/New World mean? Why isn’t the name of the grape on the label so I know what I’m buying? What are the flavors I'm supposed to taste because I only taste 'wine'? and Are expensive wines really worth it? If you’ve ever tried a great wine and thought I wish I knew how to pick out more great wines like this, you won’t want to miss this book.

Editorial Reviews

Marija P
"I have to tell you that your book works completely! I wanted to buy a wine, but they didn't have what I wanted. I remembered The WIne Code told me I would like wines made from Tempranillo grapes, so I asked them which wines had Tempranillo, and I got it. And, you know what? I loved it! I smiled because I KNEW I couldn't go wrong. I'm so happy your wine book works!"

"I'd love to, at least, memorize what the big grapes are in each region. This is so great, thank you! It's the most approachable text on wine I've seen. Very clearly explained, super concise and to the point. I love it! Very, very useful."

"I just had the most amazing experience this morning reading The Wine Code. This is a really great book! This book was very helpful for a novice with wine, like me, particularly the flavor scale, and I would have to say the most helpful part was the OAK info. This was the key learning point for me. Your sense of humor is golden. I felt like I just spent an hour with you and I loved every minute of it! You hit one out of the park."

"I like the stye and the content, and I really like your blind taste test. This book is readable, interesting and accessible without being condescending, and I think you've got it spot on!"
