This is about a women who is transported back to the 12th century. She is a historian and is desperately seeking a convent so as not to disturb the future. She is taken in by Lord Stephen and he is a super nice guy to her but a jerk to his betrothed for no other reason but her being fat, and flees his own manor. Liking this chivalric character all ready, taking pity on the new lady of the manor she makes her skinny to please her new lord and of course he falls deeply in love. Yeah he is a great guy. Now and again you get a glimpse of the hero, she describes him to be a gorgeous, but an arrogant man. You get cheeky banter back and forth for really no reason at all so I guess this kicks off her dreaming of this man every night. But there is hardly any actual play between the two for some reason he really doesn't hang around until the last part of the book so when she almost attacks the king, this is when these strangers eventually become randy and move on to an intimate level. This is also where she instantly falls in love, or has she loved him all this time? Anyway, after the romping session she confesses how much she's liked him from the first moment she met his rude self all the while holding back her confession of love and he also confesses he has liked her when the lad died or maybe because she was kind to the girl cause he didn't sound like he knew, anyway, like his character has any morals. This is also where she discovers that her main squeeze is actually not a very likable guy, (read the book you will know what I mean) The story was rushed and was just chaotically crazy. It was in a sense crap. I am sorry I thought maybe it would get better. I can't put a finger on it. Was it the writing? Or was it that the characters weren't really likable except maybe for the dogs? Maybe it was ruined by the very shoddy attempts at being funny? It was a mass of many reasons! I have seen the reviews of her other books and she really does get some good reviews. I am going to give another of her books a try. One of her newer ones.
