I like this little book. Robertie uses clear language with a good dose of chessboard graphics to teach a couple dozen openings - mostly King's Pawn openings for white and defenses to King's Pawn for black. Emphasis is on the concepts of controlling center, gaining space, and solid pawn structure. He covers openings for both white and black and uses example lines and games to reinforce his points. If you are looking for a practical and easy to understand guide to fundamental openings, spend the ten bucks. But if you are an advanced player or are already very familiar with basic openings - especially King's pawn openings, this one isn't for you.
