Sebastian Deveau is a determined man, and when he sets his mind to something there is no stopping him, and he wants Shayne Beckford, but she isn't falling for his french infused charms. From the moment they met she was adamant that she didn't date hockey players, but he wasn't about to let her get away that easy, they have something special and he isn't about to let something as simple as his job title interfere with that. Now he just has to figure out how to convince her that he's not like all hockey players, and that he deserves the chance to prove to her that he is the exception to her rule... Shayne Beckford hates everything that has anything to do with hockey, she has been burnt bad by a hockey player, watched the sport destroy her family, and she is not about to let it taint her life anymore... but she didn't account for a man like Sebastian Deveau to walk into her life. From the moment they meet she feels the sparks between them, but as soon as she finds out he is a hockey player she is ready to walk away. He however, isn't so ready to just let go of what they have, he knows they have something special, and he wants to explore it... she however just isn't ready to risk it! The mere idea of letting another hockey player into her life is excruciating, it's destined to fail like all the times before... or is it? The instant I saw this book was available I had to request it, I first met one of Ms. Denault's hockey players a few months ago, and it spawned a little hockey addiction for me, one that has lingered with me for a long while. As soon as Sebastian entered my world I felt an instant crush settle over me, and I knew that there was no way him and I were parting ways until I had devoured every last page of his sexy story. The man was pure perfection... his cocky and domineering personality, caring nature, smooth and sultry french infused one liners, and alluring hockey player sex appeal lured me in and had me falling hard for him...and had me dedicating a permanent spot on my book boyfriend list for him. His unwavering commitment to make Shayne see he was the exception to her rule, was not only something to be admired, but also a beautiful thing to witness... definitely true love at it's best!! I loved every minute of this one, it had me laughing, smiling, and swooning the whole way through and I can't wait to see what Ms. Denault and her hockey players have in store for us next!! If you like your fairy tales a little on the naughty side and equipped with smooth talking hockey players then I HIGHLY recommend you check out Ms. Denault's Hometown Players series... you will NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!! Victoria Denault created another sensational book in the Hometown Players series with book four, WINNING IT ALL. Yoga/nutrition instructor Shayne Beckford and NHL defenseman Sebastian Deveau met at the grand opening of Shayne’s brothers new state of the art fitness center and have a one-night stand. One night isn’t enough for Sebastian. Due to multiple bad experiences, Shayne, wants nothing to do with hockey players. Good thing she has no idea what Sebastian does for a living. This contemporary sports romance takes place in Seattle. It is suitable for both new adult and adult audiences. We met Sebastian in book three when he was at a party flirting with Callie Caplan and annoying his teammate Jordan Garrison’s brother, Devin. I really like Sebastian. He has a great personality. He is persistent and determined. I love that he is studying architecture and interior design. I like his relationship with his sister, Stephanie. I love that he breaks Shayne’s dad’s hockey record. I can understand why Shayne dislikes hockey players, even though I thought she was being unfair by stereotyping. Her dad is a piece of work, definitely not a good role model. I like how supportive she is of her brother. Shayne is a smart and principled. I appreciated that she would not accept her father’s money. She and Seb have terrific chemistry. I like Shayne’s friend Audrey; I think it was cool that she relocated to Seattle with her. I was really glad that Jordan Garrison and Jessie Caplan from book one, were in this story. Jessie has a lot in common with Shayne and becomes a good friend. Victoria Denault does a fantastic job with both her character development and plot. The characters have a lot of depth, and they grow throughout the story. The plot is believable and heartfelt. There are some interesting obstacles throughout the story. The novel is well-written, and it flows well. Even at 283-pages the book was a fast read. The story has a cute ending. I am looking forward to the next book in the series, ON THE LINE, expected to release on December 6, 2016. Complimentary copy provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Money, fame and women are Sebastian's Achilles Heel. They bring out the wild man in him and cause nothing but issues for his image. Hockey and heartache have followed Shayne around like a dark cloud for years. Hockey destroyed her family, crushed her brother's dreams and has left her on the receiving end of pain many times over. An instant attraction, a heated encounter and surprising discovery will land her right where she hoped to never be again. On the verge of a broken heart. The title says everything for this tumultuous love story. Winning It All, means taking a chance when the cons far outweigh the pros. Ms. Denault supplies the sentiment of romance, wrapped in the glamour of fame and seasons it with the charm of small town. What's not to love?
