The author does a wonderful job of depicting sights, sounds, places, customs, dialog, and FOOD of certain portions of South Louisiana ... and I have enough familiarity with those to state that they ring very true.
This book shares numerous characters with its prequel but the `leads' in the first story are not much more than `walk-ons' in this one -- as it should be.
As in the previous book, the supporting characters really make "Wish for a Sinner" an enjoyable read for me.
I can't say much about this aspect without `spoiling' it for new readers, but what I liked MOST were the nicely-done twists and turns of a few sub-plots.
Don't expect a book `about' football, which basically runs in the background -- as it should in this story.

So first off i want to say i was a little worried that i was going to hate this book. Being from south louisiana i am always upset with authors who try to make the setting in louisiana, but tgis author did a great job in capturing traditional louisiana things.
As for the book it was extremely lenghty and probably coukd have been shorten. It was also hard to follow at times.
My overall rating for the boom is that it is an okay read.

Again this book was too long. Too many thing are happening. But most upsetting is nell. She just goes along with what ever joe says. I didnt see any chemistry for these two. The book was a good idea but it just wasnt pulled off. Maybe the author should try to write a good book insted of a long book. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback.
