More About This Book

Overview

Three hundred and twelve years old, Shelley Kesinkowsky isn't your ordinary, everyday witch; she prides herself on being a modern, computerized witch who has Internet access. She also demonstrates uncharted talents in constructing golems-virtually alive, human-type beings.

When planet Earth faces trouble from the fury of the golem legionnaires of Mother Earth, the Grand Council of Wizards turns to Shelley, whose special golem-creating ability suddenly becomes a much needed commodity. The council orders her to create a custom-built golem that will, with the help of Shelley's former nemesis, High Wizard Jason Jeph, mysteriously keep Earth from destruction. Unknown to the young witch, however, is the lethal card Jason holds should Shelley's golem fail. At this point, neither Jason's extraordinarily talented but grumpy hyacinthine macaw, Byching, nor Shelley's special golem, Blue Eyes, will be able to help.

Shelley fears she will not be able to create the exact spell to turn Blue Eyes into a golem-killing machine. If she fails, Jason may be forced to invoke the deadly words of the Double Pulsar Cantrip. That could cost both of them their lives.

    WONDERFUL!

The novel has everything in it a good story should have; great characters, an interesting plot, lots of atmosphere, love, adventure, even symbolism or a moral or two. A great book for a lazy Sunday afternoon. Kudos, Sandra!!

    Pure fun and exciting

The author has a way of pulling you into this fantasy world right from the start. You feel as though you are a part of that world. The heroine is your friend and you can feel the emotions along with her.

Very hard to put the book down! GREAT fantasy. Looking forward to a sequel.

    Diamond in the Rough

Kirchman wraps you into a funny story of witches and fantasy. Her humour and wit keep the story light, although there is much urgency throughout the novel. An easy read; half your day will disappear before you know it! Definitely a rainy day classic.

A wonderful addition to any fantasy lover's library

Written in a breezy, flowing style, Witchcanery is one of those books you pick up to innocently start reading and find yourself halfway through before you know it. The writing is captivating, the story itself is well paced. The characters are so real you can picture yourself speaking with them even after you set the novel down.

With elements of the fantastical flawlessly mixed with every day realism, Ms. Kirchman's subtley brilliant world of modern witches can be easily transposed to the world around us. The book's themes are applicable to today's lifestyles and yet there's an original, out-of-this-world feel as well. I highly recommend it to any lover of fantasy.
