The primer, while helpful for some, is mostly unecessary. The book itself is a great read (I mean the actual Witches of East End book, so you know), and it's another wonderful Melissa De La Cruz installment. I highly recommend her books. To the other review before mine, if you want a book filled with nothing but sex, go find the romance and sex books, you imbecile. Your review makes you look like a sex-crazed/sex-deprived lunatic.

If you're not sure if you will like Witches of East End then you should get this primer b/c it gives you the first 3 chapters of the book and a tiny bit of information about the characters. So if you've read Witches of East End then this primer is unnecessary...but if you haven't read it, this is a good book to get a feel for what it's about.

Melissa is one of my favorite authors. I feel in love with the blue bloods in the first book. Now this amazing new series looks like its gonna be a fav too. I love that we got a snap shot of the characters and their personalities. Cant wait to read the first edition!

If you love the show, Witches of the East End, you will love this Nook Book. Melissa de la cruz weaves a very interesting and exciting tale of a family of witches. Must read if you like these kind of stories!

I didn't really like it. The TV show is actually better. It is written like those trashy romance novels that are sold mass market. It was a little too "fluffy" for me. Not enough substance. I will probably not read another of her novels.

I normally prefer to read books before they are made into movies or TV shows, or at least before I've seen them, but I saw the TV show "Witches of East End" before I managed to get to reading the books. I noticed some differences right away even in this little Primer between the two, but also some very strong similarities. This book sets the stage and gives a little background on some of the characters that will be involved in the series. I think it did a very good job of that, and for that reason I recommend reading this to anyone who has an interest in reading the series, or for anyone who likes to read about witches.
