Newspaper food critic Madison Young lives a safe, controlled life in Yucaipa, a quiet California town below Big Bear, afraid of the dark, afraid to take chances. Since the night her parents were murdered, she's haunted by the killer's threat to return for her. But the murder of a paroled sex-offender plunges her world upside down.

When threats to stop the investigation turn deadly, Madison races for her life against an unseen enemy who'll stop at nothing to protect the Ruby Red Society's secrets.
