I found the incredible world of jazz, listening to Nancy Wilson albums...listening to the sensitivity and interpretation in her lyrics and songs. So, with the timeless words of Johnny Mercer and the Manilow melodies and distinctive touch, how could the comobination be any other than fantastic? I am a Barry Manilow fan - to the limit - and I could listen to Nancy Wilson all day. I sing and play the piano myself, and every song on this CD is just my style!

With my Lover Beside Me, lryics by the Late Johnny Mercer and music by singing icon Barry Manilow is a magnificent collaboration. These never before heard lyrics could only have been debuted by the Lady herself, Nancy takes on the challenge of presenting these never before heard tunes only as Nancy can. The album is splendid from the first note to the last. Listen to the reprise of , With my Lover Beside Me and you will understand the moodiness of this album. I highly recommend this album to not only Nancy's legion of dedicated fans(myself included) but, to all those younger fans searching for real music and real singers to sing the music. All Music Guide - Ron Wynn
A superbly arranged, produced, and mastered session from a wonderful vocalist. Wilson's singing, delivery, and tone are enticing and sensual throughout, even when the songs threaten to get overly sentimental or just sappy. Although the album was aimed at the adult contemporary audience, Wilson never coasted through any number, and this was about as polished and effective as this kind of session could get.
