It's been quite some time since we've heard anything new from Blindside, but this album more than makes up for it. It has the feel of being a logical progression from The Great Depression, both sonically and thematically. There's a definite feel of renewal to a lot of the songs, and the album as a whole. It's also one of the few albums I can think of that basically has a little something for just about everybody. It's got its fair share of hard rocking for long time fans (though nothing quite to the level of, say, King of the Closet or Come to Rest [Hesychia]), as well as tracks that are more in line with tGD's broader, more exploratory sound (Our Love Saves Us is one of the least conventionally Blindside songs on the album, founded on a layer of mellow electronics, and yet almost ridiculously awesome). Short version: If you're a Blindside fan, you should already know you need this. If you're not, do yourself a favor and check this album out. You Will Not be disappointed.
