Overview

For three years Anjette suffered, thinking that her mother was dead. She had been murdered by a vampire, hypnotized into loving him and then slain. Now at the age sixteen, Anjette is forced out of her aunt’s house to live at Witherheart where she comes face to face with everything she thought she had left behind in her childhood. Her mother comes to her at night, transformed into a beautifully frightening creature. The monster who Anjette had thought killed her returns with her on his arm, ready to claim Anjette back into the “family.” And all the while she is watched and protected by a guardian named Kegan. However, when the guardian has been designated by the monster himself, Anjette soon finds herself trapped in more ways than one.

Meet the Author

I'm young. If stigma had a voice (and it does) it would probably say I was too young to write . . . But I do. Author of the DOW series and Witherheart, I am a writer of the paranormal, preference in dark fantasy and YA romance. I live in NJ near the cape, adore pit-bulls and rottweilers, and have three siblings.

Good story, kept me interested. I want to know more of what happened. What happened? Did they die? Get saved? Need another book.

It was an interesting premise but the writing was astoundingly bad. Typo's aside (and there were a staggering amount, including a random "1" thrown in, which I have never seen in a published book before), the writing style was similar to that of a romance novel. Every minute detail of every character's appearance is described, and other strange unexpected details as well. Along that method of writing was the overwhelming amount of "little hints" that something was wrong. The thing I found most irritating however, was the author's attempt at flowery writing, but clearly without actually knowing what the words meant, or without realizing that the sentence made no sense at all. An "eloquent stairwell" was definitely a new one for me. The ending is quite dramatic and sudden, leaving many important questions for the plot unanswered. This book was not at all what I expected, especially after the reviews claiming the writing to be fantastic.

The book was decent, but the conclusion seemed adrupt and the fates of the charactors was not really explained.

This was a good book but wished the ending was longer.
