After reading "Within Reach" I have came to have a greater insight into the life of Billy Barty and all the many lives he touched in other ways besides the entertainment business. He was a kind person with compassion for all humans and people really loved Billy for goodness in all things! After reading this book I feel confident that I can achieve many things! Thanks Billy for giving me the ambition and thanks Michael and Debra Copeland for letting me know about it in a fine way!

    An Inspirational Read

I love reading biographies of great people. People who lived life and achieved dreams...expecially those who had to do so while overcoming great personal challenges. Billy Barty's story is an inspiration. The book was such a fun read because the stories shared by so many famous people he worked with were full of life and heart.

Within Reach is worth reaching for

From an early appearance in Paramount's 1933 celebrity-filled production of Alice in Wonderland to roles well beyond his 1970's portrayal of everyone's favorite aquatic chum Sigmund the Sea Monster, the late Billy Barty managed to captivate decades of film and TV viewers, endearing them to become life-long fans. Michael and Debra Copeland gather a touching collection of memories and stories from Billy's fellow actors, directors, family, fans, and friends that allow the reader to reflect on, and remember, the incredible talent and legacy of Billy Barty.

Incredible Man ! Incredible Book !

I am a French author. When I was asked to share a few anecdotes about Billy for the book, I was very happy to do it because I held this man in high esteem. Well, my feelings after reading this book are much more than "esteem". Wow, this man was incredible ! His life was incredible, his career was incredible... and this book is incredible. So many personal anecdotes and memories from directors, producers, and fellow actors ! And how fun to watch the photos of a very young Billy !

An entertaining inside look at a Giant of a man from the people who's lives he closely touched

I've always been fascinated by Billy Barty's approach to the world he lived in. "Within Reach" not only increased my respect for this Giant of a Man, but it provided an open window into his life as seem by those who knew and loved him. His compassion, sense of humor and desire to perform well in the profession he loved. No job was to small, he approached them all with a total professionalism. "Within Reach", shows us how Billy, rather than rage out at the prejudices against little people, strived to educate people. Not just us, but the Little people themselves. Being positively proactive in his efforts and Helping to form " The Little People of America" But the most enjoyable part of this book is that it shows us Billy Barty through the stories and anecdotes told by people who lifes he touched. Stories from family, friends and celebrities who worked with and knew him for years. Stories from people who's life's Billy touched, many when they were children and how those experiences carried through their lifes. "Within Reach" contains many pictures of Billy and his family through the years and the friends and celebrities who share their stories about their experiences with Billy. If you are looking for a book that will entertain you, put a smile on you face and give you an insight into how special Billy Barty really was, I believe you will truly enjoy reading "Within Reach".

How one man touches so many lives...

Being so fortunate to have been touched by Billy Barty¿s legacy through my brother Erik¿s life, reading ¿Within Reach¿ helped me see just how many other lives one man was able to touch. ¿Within Reach¿ presents a positive theme through its contributions and examples of how Billy Barty impacted his colleagues, friends, family and fans.
