Blind since early childhood, Ginny Owens set out in life to be a music teacher -- only to find that no one wanted to hire one with her particular disability. Education's loss was Christian music's gain. On one of the brightest debuts of 1999, Owens delivers keyboard-driven earthy pop and crystal clear vocals that call to mind alterna-divas like Sarah McLachlan and Tori Amos. Particularly striking are Owens's intense lyrics, which are in full display on edgy tunes such as "I Wanna Be Moved" and "Symbol of a Lost Cause." Evocative and insightful, Owens steers clear of the clichés characteristic of too many contemporary Christian songs; instead, she relies on powerful imagery to express her theme of surrendering to a ...

The poignant "If You Want Me To" is a penetrating look at the Christian take on accepting life's burdens because those painful trials can often bring us closer to God. While Christian music, like the mainstream music scene, has lately become clogged with folk-inspired female singer-songwriters of varying degrees of talent, Owens is one who stands apart from the pack -- in any genre. My Favorite CD

I have had this CD a while now. But I sing "If you want me to" to my newborn daughter when she's fussy or tired and everytime it calms her down (and me too). I love Ginny Owens music soooo much. A must have for your Christian music collection!

    WONDERFUL GIRL!

Ginny has one amazing voice, and a heart for God. Her worship comes right out of her music. I love both of her albums.

Ginny will capture your heart and soul

I only recently discovered that Ginny is blind, that may explain the powerful emotion in her singing and in the songs on this CD. The lyrics, the captivating vocals and the great blend of instrumental accompaniment will stir in your soul a recognition of your Creator and maybe more understanding of your relationship to Him.

    Wow!! Such a great CD!!

I first heard the song Without Condition on the WB's Felicity, and I loved it! Then a few weeks later I heard another one of Ginny's songs on Roswell and decided I had to have the Cd. So I ran out and bought it, and I love it! I had no idea she was a christian singer1 But it's great that she is, because while she is witnessing, her music is also appealing to teens! Buy this CD, you will love it!!
