    I Also Recommend:

    Very funny

This book is hilarious. If you like Woody Allen's humour I would highly recommend it. It's totally ridiculous, but brilliant at the same time - which sums up Woody Allen as a comedian. This is a book to make you laugh out loud. It's a collection of short essays, short plays and other strange observations. I was lucky enough to find it outside someone's house in a box of books they were throwing away. It's quite an old book, written back in the '70s, so some of the references are out of date, but I think it has aged well and is still relevant today. If you want a giggle you should pick up this book.

Not as good as Side Effects or Getting Even

I was disappointed with this book. I first read Side Effects, and I was blown away by how great it was. Then I read this one, and boy was I underwhelmed. I have almost finished Getting Even, and I am pleased to say that it is better than this one too. If you want GREAT Woody, go with one of those other titles.

    incoherently funny

this short book collects a random assortment of great one-liners and memorable quotes. it is the essence of what makes woody allen so fascinating. the only failing the book seems to have is it's meandering nature. it seems less like a coherent work and more like an editor picked through a wastebasket in the home of woody allen and printed whatever was written on the tossed pages. however, this lack of cohesion and flow does not in any way take away from the pure hilatiry of the work nor the sharpness of the wit.
