More About This Book

Overview

This novel contains explicit language, sex, drugs, abuse and sexual situations that some might find offensive.

While the chaos and bloodshed have slowed for a short period, life is never quiet in the world of Breakneck. The club is taking time to regroup from internal betrayal and the changing of the guard in a rival group.
Zig Zag became a father at the age of thirteen. While raising a child has never been easy, now his eighteen year old daughter Tatiana makes his life downright hard. She has caught the eye of Travis, the new President of the rival MC Gunners, but all she really wants is Shadow, the newest addition to the Breakneck family. When Shadow's rejection sends Tatiana running from the only family, home, and safety she's ever known, ZZ is crazy with worry. The distraction caused by Tatiana's disappearance could prove to be Zig Zag's downfall.

If that isn't enough, ZZ finds himself rampantly attracted to the one and only Storm. She's beautiful, quick and witty. Their friendship is the one thing that keeps him from growing crazy, and Storm stands by ZZ through all the turmoil. Zig Zag is not accustomed to hearing the word no, so Storm's constant withstanding just draws him in deeper. Their friendship is one thing keeping him from going crazy, until one night...

The club is regrouping and rebuilding from the mayhem known as the Russian Mafia. A hit is ordered on Tatiana, Storm, Winter, and Piper.

Tatiana's egg donor reveals secrets that a thirteen year old Zig Zag was too young to understand.

Braxxon is out of reach while he helps Greg Cage deal with some dirty business.

Bloodshed... Secrets... Betrayal... Trauma... Welcome back to the Breakneck world.

    Good

141 pages. A nice addition to the series. With great side stories that could easily stand as follow up books

The drama, violence and heartbreak continues in the second book

The drama, violence and heartbreak continues in the second book of the Breakneck Series, Withstanding Me by Author Crystal Spears.  The Breakneck MC is under attack from the Russian Mafia, Winter and Brax are getting married and Zig Zag "ZZ" (Mason Dillan) has finally met his match in Storm (Apple Martini).  This is their story.

ZZ is known for his sexy love 'em and leave 'em lifestyle.  He doesn't commit and lives life on the edge.  He grew up in club life.  At the young age of 13 he became a father, and assumed responsibility for her care.  His daughter, Tatiana, knows how to push his buttons and continues to drive him crazy.

Storm wants more than a one night stand, more than sex, she's ready to settle down and has decided not to settle for anything less.  As ZZ pursues her she continues to stick by her commitment to not be another notch in his belt.  She cares deeply for him and the attraction continues to grow.  This heroine is a kick a$$ and ask questions later kind of gal.  I love how strong and loyal to her new family she is.

ZZ and Storm's path to find love is filled with heartache, despair, and anguish.  When an attempt is made on the ladies of Breakneck, the club rallies together to protect their own from those that want to destroy them.  Time after time ZZ approaches Storm and she continues to reject him until Brax and Angel’s wedding.

The events that occur grab and enthrall you as you turn each page in this book.  This book is well written and the characters mature as the saga unfolds.  Greg Cage from Harper Sloan's Corps Security series makes an appearance giving a new perspective on his character.  The author is brilliant in the way the plot continues to build; allowing the reader's imagination to create this sexy, hot MC world.  I love this series and look forward to reading the next book in this series!

    Overall Rating:  4.5 Rockin’ Stars
    Hero: 4 stars
    Heroine:  4.5 stars
    Plot:  4.5 stars
    Steam Level: 4 stars
    Cliffhanger:  No

Would I recommend this book: Yes.  This is an excellent continuation and addition to the series! Relationships are solidified and the bad guys continue in their quest for domination.   I cannot wait for Shadow's story. His introduction to the club in the first book leaves questions that need to be answered. The buildup of his background in this book creates more questions that make you want to know more about ‘WHO’ he really is.

Would I recommend this author: Yes.  Crystal Spear's knows how to write and she does it extremely well.  She writes gritty, raw MC romances that allow the reader to escape from reality for a while and immerse themselves into the world of motorcycle clubs.

    Great Biker Story

This is the first book I have read by Crystal Spears and I really enjoyed it. I love a good biker book and this one was above par. Storm is the first heroine of a biker book that did not annoy me. She had standards and I really liked that about her. ZZ was totally sexy and yummy. Will be reading more in this series.

Another great Breakneck Series book by Crystal Spears! This one

Another great Breakneck Series book by Crystal Spears! This one wasn’t as raw and gritty as Seize Me was but it was still a great book. I liked that even though this was mainly Zig Zag and Storm’s story we still get to read about Braxxon and Winter and also a bit about Shadow and Tatiana.
Zig Zag is the epitome of a man afraid of commitment. He’s hot as hell, tattooed, pierced (yeah, down there too), moody, protective, and possessive. At the same time, there’s Storm who has been through a lot of bad stuff in her life and is ready for something serious. She doesn’t take crap from anyone – especially ZZ. They were so awesome together! Storm knew just how to handle ZZ and it had me cracking up. They had some pretty steamy sex scenes too.
Yes, it wasn’t as dark as Seize Me but it was still an excellent story. There was plenty of action, blood, violence, sex, and slight drug reference. It was a great book and I can’t wait to read the next ones in the series. Awesome job and I give it a 5 out of 5 stars!

    Another Brother Yells ‘Breakneck’!
Life with a MC is never easy, but with the Breakneck MC it's raw, gritty, and real. However if you dare to read the tale you’ll find love, humor and a family like no other.
In Withstanding Me, we learn more about Storm who was saved by the Breakneck MC club in Seizing Me. Storm and Winter have now formed a friendship, and that makes her Breakneck family. Another member of the family Zig Zag, has developed an unwanted obsession with Storm, and he’s convinced that a quick f**k with get him past it. But, while finding her way back to herself again, Storm fell in love with ZZ, and she’s not willing to be just another muffler bunny to him, she want more.
As these two find their way through friendship, lust, lost chances and past lies, life in the Breakneck family goes on. Grieving brothers, the wedding, a lost mother is found and more Russian mayhem bring the grit and violence back to the family. Happiness doesn’t last long in an MC world, but when the fight is done and the blood is washed away is regret going to eat away at the heart and hope of the club?
I love this series, keep them coming and I’ll keep reading. Dani Graves

**ARC received from author in exchange for an honest review as part of the blog tour**

Withstanding Me is book #2 in the Breakneck series and focuses on ZZ and Storm. Although other members of the Breakneck MC do make an appearance.

Crystal has done it again with Withstanding Me! Normally when reading a series book #2 tends to not be as good as book #1 but that it not the case with the Breakneck series. Granted Withstanding Me is not as dark as Seize me was and this is a little disappointing but with that aside you can't deny that this book grabs you by the throat and refuses to let you go.

I love ZZ although I wanted to jump in the book and smack him up-side the head on more than one occasion! He really was one blind geezer. Storms character really rang true for me. I loved how strong she was and how she was taking control of her own life and making sure she didn't do anything that would drag her back down to the pits of despair.
I love a book with different POV's but I think this one included the other characters too much for me. We heard from Winter and Brax in Seize Me and to be honest I think maybe some of the others should of got more of a voice in this book to build them up for their own stories.

I love the way the book was written and the way it just flowed. I read this is one sitting. The storylines in the book came together well and you are taken on the rollercoaster ride with the characters. I enjoyed how there was many different forces within the book that affected the characters in different ways. There is no way you could get bored reading this. For a change I have found an author who can hold my attention through the whole book.

I love Crystals writing style and can't wait to read more in the Breakneck Series.

I loved Seize Me book 1, which was raw and gritty and I was so excited to read Withstanding Me, which had me up all hours reading :-)

ZZ's book starts with him lusting after Storm, who is in love with him and refuses to let him have his way with her because she wants a lot more from him than a one-night-stand. This being said she goes out on a date with the Breakneck lawyer, which pisses ZZ off something wicked and his jealousy rears its ugly head!

Everything comes to ahead at 'the wedding' (read book 1), which made me cry - I was like noooooooo ZZ you ass!

Then as weeks pass and something happens to Storm I cried again - OMG Crystal!!!

This book as the first drew emotion out of me and I just love reading about these hot, bad ass guys. This book wasn't as raw as the first and i'm not sure whether I missed it or not, but it was a really good read. Great storyline, especially with the slight insight into the other guys and I so can not wait for the other books in this series. Also, what makes this series a good read is the fact that each one has a HEA - NO CLIFFHANGER!!
