Overview

The storms of economic turmoil have been raging for a while now. We have seen the uprooting of business giants collapsing under the pressure from the winds of insecurity. You don't have to be without a job or in the throngs of foreclosure to understand that times are tough and people are struggling daily to provide the basics-food, shelter, and clothing. Know this, storms-financial, relational, spiritual, or whatever you are facing-are a part of life. Yet you can be reassured that God knows about the storms brewing in our lives. He knows just where you are. The Word of God is filled with hope, love, peace, and strength. Withstanding the Winds is an encouraging devotional journal that pieces together Scripture with true-to-life examples of triumph and trial, offering hope to those fighting in the trenches, strength for those whose hearts have fainted, and peace to those who feel downtrodden. Take a little time each day to fortify your mind with the promises of God's Word, and you won't believe the blessings you'll receive.

    All Should Read

"Withstanding the Winds," by Charmain Griffiths is an encouragement to the soul. Each page of this devotional is filled with uplifting scriptures and you're left with the feeling of hope. Charmain discusses all kinds of storms that arise in our lives, such as fear, worry, frustrations, doubts, and many other problems we all face. But she eagerly points out that we are not facing them alone. God is on our side and has the controls. We just have to trust him. You will want to revisit this devotional and the scriptures within it, when you need some encouragement. This book is a blessing to anyone who reads it and should be on everyone's shelf at home and in our churches.

    Inspiring, Encouraging and Profound!

Withstanding The Winds is a devotional journal that reaches out to all Christians with the message of God's love, protection and enduring truth. I enjoyed the author's writing which effortlessly draws the reader out of the pains and difficulties of everyday living into the protective arms of Jesus Christ through scripture and her own beautiful writing. It's a hands-on book that invites the reader's participation to add their own feelings and prayers, giving a deeper involvement into the journal and a means by which he or she can discover a new growth and spiritual awareness in Christ. For every ounce of inspiration Charmain gives in her journal, she also gives a pound of understanding and clarity through a mix of scripture, stories, encouragement and references. I highly recommend her journal to all Christians to read as a daily devotional. Excellent reading!
