Overview

These are the most magical and colorful mazes you'll ever see! Solve all of them and you'll free the Ancient Wizard from captivity and rescue the town of Wigglewand from the evil sorcerer Wrinklewit. On the way, you'll face many obstacles and great danger. First, find the correct tools and use them properly: one maze winds through the library and over to the Wizard's handbook, while another will bring you to seven wands, each of a different color and with a different power. Climb up the spire to capture the snow owl; he will be your companion through the journey. Make your way safely through the caves without falling down the cliff. Avoid the baby dragons' fire (and their even scarier parents). Slash your way through Wrinklewit's guards, locate the key to the jail where the Wizard is imprisoned, open it...and celebrate your a-maze-ing victory!

A collection of twenty-nine mazes which, together, lead the reader to Wizardry castle, where the Grand Wizard of Wigglewand's power medallion is being held by the evil Wrinklewit.

Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature
The stage is set: the Ancient Wizard of Wigglewand has selected the reader to rescue the village of Wigglewand from the evil Wrinklewit. Wrinklewit has closed all the roads to Wizardry Castle and readers must overcome creepy, spooky hazards to rescue the Ancient Wizard's power medallion. Readers must work their way through 27 mazes, some fairly easy but most quite intricate, to achieve their goal. On the whole, the mazes force readers to use their powers of concentration and creativity. They are colorful, visually interesting and varied. Some of the mazes occupy one page; however, some of the mazes fill up a complete page spread. Mazes stretching across two pages are much harder to do because the book is bound down the middle. A binder format would have been easier to manipulate because the pages would lie flat. 2003, Sterling Publishing Co, Ages 10 to 14.

    Cool 'exercise your brain' book

This book is real neat. My seven year old son really enjoys it. It is best to not 'mark' in the book, as it allows everyone to attempt the mazes. By not marking in it also means you have to strain your brain more. It is a real awesome book to have around...it keeps them busy, and it also is educational. Lastly, the introduction is clever and makes the child feel they are on some sort of magical mission. I recommend this book, and look forward to trying others by this author.
