When this wolf comes knocking, there’s no turning him away

Salvation Pack, Book 1

When Gwendolyn Jones inherits a Tennessee cabin from a great aunt she never knew, she quits her job and follows her dream to write full time. Meeting a stranger in a local cemetery isn’t a risk she normally takes, but she needs the information on his flash drive for an article she’s writing on werewolves. Later that night, when two honest-to-God werewolves come knocking on her cabin door, they’re definitely not Photoshopped.

Jacque LaForge is on a mission to retrieve a flash drive before it endangers his pack. He never thought he’d find a mate, but the chemistry between him and Gwen is unmistakably off the charts. Now to convince her he’s only trying to protect her from his vengeful former pack—led by his own father.

Gwen’s first instinct to flee only gets her a smashed car and a concussion. She wakes up in a dangerous new world she never thought existed—and in the arms of the one man who stands between her and certain death.

Warning: Contains a sexy werewolf and his small pack of friends, a paranormal writer who really didn’t believe such things existed—until now—and a completely dysfunctional family who are out to kill them both.

First, there is a man on the roof of your car yelling at you to stop, what do you do? A. Slam on the breaks and then run over his legs. B. Get side tracked and slam into a tree. Or C. Speed up and ignore him. Wel this wench chose c then b. That tells you this woman is incredibly stupid without an ounce of self-preservation. Being held in a house that she could escape from if she used her one brain cell. This whole book is very annoying. Then she thinks it is an awesome idea to have sexual contact with her kidnapper. Brilliant! What an utter waste of time. This book is filled with an "hero" who doesn't make sure his enemies are dead and a woman who thinks just because the tip of a knife is bent that it is useless, then lets it lay where the enemy could use it on her. I am never reading anything else from this author. Unless of course I want to get so frustrated that I almost break my Nook.

I got about halfway through and could not force myself to read anymore. The heroine was very unlikable. A sniveling wah wah wah. All she seemed to do was sleep. I found her character very immature and always crying about one thing or another. The hero was just as bad. He carries her everywhere, even to the toilet (lol). He did not portray a very masculine hero. All they kept thinking to themselves was how strong and independant she was, and nowhere in the book did she appear strong and self reliant. Mind you this is only my perception of the book, but I really did not find it likable at all.

To be honest bk 2 in this series was rec to me. But I bought bk 1 to not ferl lost. My biggest issue was Gwen. She was almost unlikeable. If I do not like the heroine it ruins the book. Her constant - I cant stay, this wont work, I will be leaving after, blah blah blah got on my nerves. Like 180 pages worth. Then there were parts of the book that were slow. Lots of repeated inner dialogue of - I wont let her go & I cant stay. I also felt the Louis part of the triangle not need. I did like the story line & Great character development. You want all the guys to find their mate.

This book was so dumb. "I met you 12 hours ago and the only thing I know about you is that you kidnapped me and are a werewolf but sure I'll sleep with you." "I've known you for four days and I have been asleep for two of the days but I love you. " "Ok Gwen we are being attacked so whatever you do don't leave this room where you will be safe." Anyone want to guess what she does? Anyone? Bueller?

If you have a chance read the second book in this series first. Gwen isn't the wimp suggested by other reviews but she goes from being so desperate to get alway that she tries to throw herself out of a fast moving car to having sex with her kidnapper. Basically the flaw of the whole book, going from point A to point E without stopping or even passing by the other points. Read the second book, it is much better and you'll get this one in the backstiory stuff.

I really enjoyed this book.First in the Salvation Pack series. I was interested in this from page one to the ending and bought the next in series before I was finished this one.Hot cajun alpha wolf, kidnapped human, crazy former pack and 4 more hot cajun wolves to get stories from. Lots of action, drama and sex in this book. I had already read all of N J Walters books in her Legacy Series so i was hoping this was as good and was not disappointed .
