    Rockpaw

Rockpaw opened his eyes. "Welcome," said a voice. Rockpaw was in HorseClan's prarie. He reconized the voice as the tabby tom. "Im dead, right?" He said looking straight ahead. "Yes," said the tabby. "I don't think I ever told you my name, did I?" Rockpaw shook his head. "Well my names Woodclaw," he said. "I don't want to be dead!" Rockpaw cried. "I never even learned how to fight or hunt and ill never be a warrior now. They didnt even care enough to give me my warrior name like they did for Poppyflame. Wait, since your StarClan, could you give me my warrior name?" He shook his head. "No, thats a Clan leader's job." "I want to be alive again!" Said Rockpaw. Next thing he knew, he was in the night sky, surrounded by stars and some starry cats. Rockpaw looked down at his starry paws, then at starry Woodclaw. "Look down," Woodclaw said. Rockpaw looked down to see they were super high above the ground. Rockpaw realized they were foating on nothing, though his paws felt like they were on solid ground. "Woah," breathed Rockpaw. "Follow me," said Woodclaw as he walked away. They stopped and Woodclaw commanded him to look down. He did as he said and saw the small figures of two cats. Specificly Starkit and Sunsoul. They were laying next to his bloody and torn up body. Starkit looked like she was asleep. "Starkit is asleep. You can visit her in her dreams," said Woodclaw. "Really?" Rockpaw said excidedly. "How?" "Im not sure. But maybie try sleeping and think about her," Woodclaw told him. Rockpaw tried and eventually he found the black fading into a scene. He was in the forest and he could see Starkit turn to him. "Rockpaw! She yiped and ran toward him. She crashed into him and they both rolled. They hit a rock and fell apart. "Starkit," he said. "I hate being dead. Theres nothing to do and its aways the same. No excitment whatsoever. I would rather die over and over again then be dead forever. What are you doing?" "Vigil," she said. "But I fell asleep. I want to stay up, but, like I said, I fell asleep." "Yeah, I saw that. I could try to wake you up. Ill scare you. Like in a nightmare, something happens and you wake up. Ready?" Rockpaw told her. "I guess," she said. Rockpaw got in the hunting crouch, readying to pounce, the one thing his mentor taught him. He pounced, trying to act as scary as possible. He acted like an enemy trying to kill her. He blinked and opened his eyes to be back in the sky with Wooclaw. He looked down. Starkit was awake. In the morning, Sunsoul dug a deep hole. They placed Rockpaw in it. Starkit found a rock and used the thin dimond frame around her star pendant to carve the smooth black rock into a centemeter thick, like her pendant, star. She set it down on his shoulder. Sunsoul covered him with dirt, carfull not to disturb the placing of Starkit's star. Rockpaw watched them from high above. They said something, but he couldnt understand it. They used all their strength to roll three logs around the hole he was buried in, making a square missing a side. Rockpaw was thinking, and he thought that Dark Shadow must know he really liked Starkit. Wouldnt the wolves try to protect Rockpaw's freinds and family? That would make Dark shadow want to kill those cats. Which would include Starkit and Sunsoul! He would try and protect them. He had to. He would also protect his Clan. Dark Shadow might be drawn to his camp and kill all the cats there. He let the thought go and let happier thoughts take its place. He hated being dead
