True love’s path never did run smooth.
Granite Lake Wolves, Book 3
After seven years of total denial, Maggie Raynor’s body—and her inner wolf—are in full revolt. Weak and shaky, she literally falls into the very large and capable arms of the Granite Lake Beta, Erik Costanov. The last thing she wants is a mate, particularly when just looking at another wolf scares her to death. And one as big and sexy as Erik? Really bad idea, no matter what her libido says.
Erik expected to meet Maggie in Whitehorse to escort her to the home of her sister, his pack’s Omega. Sheer chance puts him in the right place at the right time to catch her, but the realization that hits him with the force of a full body shot is no accident. She’s his mate. An even bigger shock? She wants no part of him—not until she resolves her issues.
She’ll have to work fast, because they’re both selected to represent the pack during the premier sporting event for wolves in the north. Not only will she have to work as a team with Erik, she’ll have to face down her fear of wolves. Let the Games begin.
An excellent read, I enjoyed it from front cover, which is oo la la - mouthwatering to say the least, to the very last page, which left me wanting more. I will definitely get through this series, though when I selected the book, rather randomly, I was not so sure what to expect or that I would like it. I was pleasantly surprised.
Arend does an excellent job developing her characters quickly; immediately you are drawn to Maggie and Erik's plight and its subsequent resolution. And getting there is half the fun!
A classic tale of unbridled passion, that is kept in check for the sake of decency and humanity...that is until it can be caged no longer. OH! But don't get me wrong, this story wasn't your typical sexually frustrating, won't give in until the last pages kind of tension; rather they acknowledged their attraction, and admitted openly the want for it, but for the sake of making it real, they chose to take it slow and allow Maggie to truly be ready. The sensitive side of me was able to appreciate Erik's patience, while being equally frustrated with Maggie's stubbornness.
All in all it was a good read, and I enjoyed the story as much as the passion. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the Granite Lake Wolves series by Vivian Arend.

"Wolf Games" was a short, but steamy read that curled my toes and had me salivating for a taste of sexy werewolf Erik. Not only was this one hot wolf he was also one of the sweetest guys you will ever meet. He really knows how to treat his mate Maggie and shows her nothing, but kindness and understanding. The relationship wasn't rushed either and there was definitely chemistry between these two. There was a lot of hilarious sarcasm used in this book as well. Most of it coming from Maggie, but that's why I love her. The only real complaint I have about this book was that we didn't get to know much about Erik's back story.
Come on and join the fun check out "Wolf Games" by Vivian Arend.

Feel sick again. Another rip off. Paid for a book and got a few pages. I am startled over some of the reviews. So many five stars? This is not a series it is one book divided into four books. And yes you get to pay for four books. There is better writing when the author is discussed at the end of the booklet. (More in depth pages given to her and her life than the book itself).
