Wolf In My Pocket
Children of all ages (8 to 88) will enjoy this gothic adventure.

Good little girl Anka is called "uppity" and "naughty" because her spirit is larger than the rules around her. The day finally dawns when Anka is "bold" one too many times and she is cast out of the village. The gate slams shut behind her.

Afraid and alone and with no lantern to guide her way, Anka takes one step into the forest. Thus begins her journey to find her sacred self.

This modern day, old-fashioned fairytale is a quest of self discovery and redemption taken by one brave little girl hero.

About the Author

Author, Jaki Fey, encodes her stories with archetypal pattern because she understands the daily fears children face and the heroic deeds they must perform if they are to survive and thrive in childhood. One of her favorite quotes is a paraphrase of a G.K. Chesterton idea, “Fairy tales do not tell children that dragons exist. Children already know that dragons exist. Fairy tales tell children that dragons can be killed.”

Her modern fairytales are as much for good mothers and strong fathers as they are for children. Tantes and zii, omas and opas (and other ‘keepers of a child’s spirit’) can tell this story while firelight dances on faces and arms are wrapped around wee ones.

Other books by Jaki Fey include, "The Last Goose Concert" (2012), and "Birthday Boar & Other Letters to the Grandkids" (coming soon).

Jaki earned her English degree from San Jose State University with a minor in anthropology.
