Overview

Love isn't always practical.

Darcey is used to being a man magnet—for men who want her money. But when a hot hunk named Surlok saves her from a wolf attack, she can't help but think he's different from the rest. So what if he's broke—and claims to be a prince from another planet? All he needs is a little grooming. If only he would stop scaring off the maids by swimming naked in her pool. Not that Darcey minds. . .

Especially since life is becoming way more fun with Surlok in her guest house. Suddenly this pampered princess doesn't mind camping—as long as she gets to cuddle with Surlock. But then he changes into a wolf before her eyes, proving he's the alien he says he is. At least that doesn't mean he's right about her being an alien. Or does it? There's only one way to find out. She's already given into her lust. Now she'd just have to surrender her heart to the very human emotion threatening to consume her. . .

Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
The princes of New Symtaria are at it again, shifting into animals and showing up naked in Texas, in the third installment of Kelley's hilarious paranormal series (after August 2010's The Falcon Prince). Prince Surlock arrives in the small town of Summerville, Tex., to protect heiress and aspiring PI Darcy Spencer from rogue Symtarians who want to kill half-bloods. Darcy has no idea she's actually a half-alien shape-shifter, so when she spots a wolf and then a naked man, she bops him over the head with a stick. Now Surlock has amnesia. Darcy's determined to use her detective skills to get to the root of his identity, but the blood tests and fingerprints keep coming up weird, so she undertakes a more intimate investigation. Deadpan humor and lots of inventive silliness make this series a delight for anyone seeking pure escapism. (Nov.)

The Wolf Prince, third book in the Princes of Symtaria series, but is a stand alone read. Ms. Kelley combines two aspects of shape shifting and aliens to weave a light paranormal read interspersed with her trademark humor that as readers we have come to expect.*******Darcey Spencer is a licensed PI who aspires to have her own practice one day, runs into a wolf on her parent's country estate but before it can attack her she is shrouded in fog and then confronted with a naked man, who she promptly hits over the head. Having caused amnesia from the hit, Darcey decides that she can find out who the person is using her investigative skills. She is totally perplexed when nothing she tries pans out to a resolution to his identity.*******Prince Surlock has come to Summerville, Texas from New Symtaria to protect Darcey from rogue Symtarians who are out to kill half-bloods. Darcey is unaware of her shape shifting abilities and therefore figures that his claims are a result of his injury. She had been bothered with a humming in her ears for years, which could never be explained, but was only intensifying since Surlock's appearance. What if his claims were truth?*******The humor weaved throughout the book, the seriousness and suspense and the hotter than hot feelings between Darcey and Surlock make this book is a great read. That we reconnected with Rogar and Kristor was an added bonus. I hope there are more stories to come in this series, and I recommend them as fun, hot reads.

I have no words for how horrible this book is. I may have enjoyed the plot better if it didn't read like it was written by a freshman in high school having a w*t dream wrapped up in a b rated story. When it comes to creating a character, who is that gullible? ...and the actual dialog between the characters, atrocious. Who acts like that? The idea behind the book itself is decent, but the author needs to work on her writing abilities a lot more. I've read many books in this genre and could recommend several authors that are much, much better. The only good thing about this book was that I got it for free.

Interesting read, but the author writing style is pretty...odd. I enjoyed the story, but it seemed as if there were only 12 complex sentences throughout the book. Two many short sentences.
