I enjoy historical fiction, but I'm not a huge fan of romance which I've found most historical fiction is. I was hooked within the first few chapters. Very descriptive and very well written. I liked that the main female character, Alysia, is strong and fierce and determined. Before I started reading the book, I was unaware of the religious aspects that would be introduced but it did not make the whole of the book any less enjoyable for me. I'm not Christian, so I'm unable to comment on any sort of accuracy of it. Bottom line is I couldn't put it down.

I don't like to read the "overview" of a book. I want to dig in and let the story take me where it will. This book did not disappoint me! A great story that has a historical twist. If you enjoy Christian fiction, you absolutely must read this book!!
