Overview

Syndicated astrology columnist Jacqueline Bigar helps women look to the moon for insight into their love lives.

What sign are you? Most people will answer with their Sun sign, the sign that people read about when they look up their horoscope in the daily paper. But, contrary to popular belief, women are not best represented by their Sun sign...but rather by their Moon sign, which is determined not just by the date of birth, but also by the hour. When reading a woman's astrological chart, a good astrologer pays special attention to the Moon sign because it speaks specifically of motherhood domestic life, and emotional needs. "Women And Their Moon Signs" will give readers a tour of their moonscape, revealing clues about their female nature, their family, and their relationships. Women will learn who they are, what they yearn for, and what type of man will knock their socks off. Once women have determined their Moon sign they will learn how the moon effects their life and relationships, how their Moon and Sun signs interact, and with what signs they will find the most compatibility with in a love relationship. Whether they have a new significant other on the horizon, a lasting relationship, or several potential suitors, this book will provide women with the information they need to find true love.

Introduction

"We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are."
— Anais Nin
from Quotable Women, Running Press, Philadelphia

Millions of readers scoop up newspapers and magazines to read their horoscope. But what they are actually reading are their "Sun" signs. There is much more to an individual's astrological chart than the Sun, but this is the one piece of information most people know, since itis determined by one's birth date alone.

Did you know you not only have a Sun sign, but another sign for the Moon and planets, such as Venus, Mars, and Mercury? It's true. You have many signs, not just your Sun sign. Together, they make up your complete chart. To learn all your signs, you need more information about the position of the planets at the time of your birth.

This book will teach you about your Moon sign, describing the essential qualities that the Moon gives you. These qualities often make up the very core of your femininity and are vital to the success you hope to find in love relationships.

Astrologers, as well as psychiatrists, have always know that each person, regardless of gender or sexual orientation, has a masculine side and a feminine side that combine to make the whole person. The psychologist Carl Jung described these two sides as the animus, for the masculine nature, and anima, for the feminine. Astrologers define this sychological difference by using the Moon to define the feminine and the Sun to define the masculine. That's the reason we have used the combination of Sun and Moon to best describe relationships between menand women.

Astrologers have always known that women are not fully represented by their Sun signs. Ironically, what women fought to communicate to the world in the 1970s, their ability to function in a society dominated by masculine values, is that aspect of their nature described by the Sun. Their Sun qualities are what let women compete in the business world, enjoy sports, and analyze. But it is the Moon that endows a woman with her feminine virtues, inclinations, and emotional needs. It is the Moon that calls for a particular type of man to fulfill her as a woman.

The Moon gives a woman her very essence, her feminine essence, her feminine core; her sensual, tender, nurturing, caring side. A woman's aura is bathed in moonlight and it is hers alone. The Moon compels a woman, regardless of worldly success, to satisfy her emotional hunger for love, home, children, and romance.

The purpose of this book is to give women a tour of their very private Moonscopes. If you are a woman, you'll discover the Moon's map of your nature, your partnerships, and how you project your image in the world. That image might be very different from the person you really are and what you want from a relationship. If you are a man, you'll learn secrets about the women in your life and what makes them tick, as revealed by their Moon signs. By studying his own Moon sign, a man can learn about that part of his nature, that anima, that traditional society has taught him to repress.

You know what your Sun sign is, the sign determined by your birth date. But what is your Moon sign? At the back of the book [page 343 you'll find charts that locate both your Sun and Moon signs, according to the date and time of your birth. Start by using the charts. Identify your Moon sign and verify your Sun sign — the one you check in the daily horoscope column.

Once you know your Moon sign, find the chapter that describes your Moon nature. Read about yourself, specifically your emotional disposition, and outlook on life, your expectations, your dreams and hopes.

Following the general description of your Moon sign, the book gives even more information, based on the combination of your Moon and Sun signs. For while each Moon sign endows specific feminine traits to those born under it, these qualities are shaded by the Sun. By reading your Moon description with its companion Sun sign, you'll learn even more, about your total nature.

Under each Moon-Sun combination, you'll discover relationship options with men, based on their Sun signs. These descriptions reveal which men are most likely to be compatible with you. Whatever your current relationship status, this book promises you new insights into past, present,, and possible future relationships. It can change your life. You will gain a better understanding of why you repeat patterns — positive or negative. You could get a good look at "Mr. Right"!

Women can also use this book to learn a powerful secret: A man's Moon sign can tell you not only about his hidden emotional nature; it can describe the type of woman he wants and needs. So after you finish reading about yourself, you can use the book to gain extra insights about the men in your life.

The book charts a long-needed map of women's special needs. So pick up a pen and paper and get ready for an emotional adventure no horoscope book has ever provided. It was written to give you pleasure, new perspective, and an enthusiasm for fun, love, and life.
