Wonder Woman (1942-) #178 based on 0 ratings. 1 reviews.
A different direction for Wonder Woman. It's the 1960's and Wonder Woman's boyfriend, Steve Trevor, is accused of a murder he did not commit. After a misunderstanding with Trevor that causes her to shed her Wonder Woman persona she joins the psychedelic scene where she looks for the real murderer as Diana Prince. This story was not my taste. It focuses on Prince as a love struck woman instead of the super hero we are used to. She transforms into Wonder Woman only as a last resort so it feels like the Amazon princess makes guest appearances here and there instead of being the protagonist as suggested by her name being used in the title. When I saw the the title "The New Wonder Woman" I was expecting some type of evolution of the character, but this seemed more like an abandoning of her. I should have known better when I saw the cover, but my curiosity got the best of me. If you are looking for the tough fighter Wonder Woman, then I do not recommend this comic.
