Humerous and educational account of camping in the mid 1800's. Sears manages to convey his love of the wilderness and dismay at its destruction in a way that effortlessly bridges the intervening 150 years. In addition, there are practical tips and tricks that will help even the most vetern 'old woodsman'. I get the feeling he'd like the idea of our generation learning from him and contonuing to find peace in the woods.
