Overview

The growing scholarly attention in recent years to the religious world of late antiquity has focused new attention on the quest for holiness by the strange, compelling, often obscure early Christian monks known as the desert fathers. Yet until now, little attention has been given to one of the most vital dimensions of their spirituality: their astute, penetrating interpretation of Scripture. Rooted in solitude, cultivated in an atmosphere of silence, oriented toward the practical appropriation of the sacred texts, the desert fathers' hermeneutic profoundly shaped every aspect of their lives and became a significant part of their legacy. This book explores the setting within which the early monastic movement emerged, the interpretive process at the center of the desert fathers' quest for holiness, and the intricate patterns of meaning woven into their words and their lives.

Two toms padded through the ferns, sniffing the air. "Simon?" One of them, a dark gray tabby, growled to his companion. Simon flicked his ear. "What is it, Oliver." It was more of a statement than a prompt. "I smell cats." Oliver wrinkled his nose. "Clan cats?" "What?" Simon scented the air. "You're right.." he growled, the orange tabby flexing his claws. Suddenly a rather beautiful gray-ish blue tinted she-cat tumbled through the ferns, eyes burning angrily. "Furballs!" She spat, tugging a burr from her leg. "You can't just leave your sister behind!" Simon rolled his eyes. "Jay.." he sighed his sister's name.

A beautiful blue-grey shecat stumbles into camp. Her fur is sleek like a Riverclan cat's but she is thin and she has a wound on her hind leg, causing her to limp. There is a white moon-shaped patch of fur on her chest. "My name is Moon," she mews."I have been searching for many days to find the place of many cats; please, I have no other place to go. I hope there will be a place for me here." She stares around the camp, waiting expectantly for an answer.

Suggestions: Purrito shirt, Taco cat shirt, cat headband, cat print skirt, etc. So please do Cat Fridays and spread word!!! :3

The she-kit was bloody with a matted white pelt. She also had large blue eyes and small bluish gray speckles. She pads up to Berrystar, and stred up at him.
