Overview

Proven Formula for a Balanced, Effective Christian Life

Too often churches emphasize the Bible without welcoming the work of the Holy Spirit, who inspired the Bible. Or they focus on seeking manifestations of the Spirit while neglecting sound Bible teaching. The result: a schism in their faith lives in which they cut God--and his power--out of Christianity's equation. How can God draw a lost world to his Son through people who are powerless?

With over 170 years of diverse ministry experience among them, respected veteran leaders R. T. Kendall, Charles Carrin, and Jack Taylor restore balance to the Christian walk. They show that when the Word is faithfully preached and the Holy Spirit warmly welcomed, the Lord manifests his power, bringing salvation, miracles, healings, heart understanding, and much more. Only when Christians honor the Word and the Spirit can they lead empowered, fruitful lives.

Meet the Author

Dr. R. T. Kendall, a graduate of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and Oxford University (DPhil), is a protege of Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones. He was the senior minister of the historic Westminster Chapel in London for 25 years. The author of numerous bestselling books, he conducts conferences all over the world and writes a bimonthly column for Ministry Today. He and his wife, Louise, live near Nashville, Tennessee.

Charles Carrin has been in ministry more than 50 years, most of which time his beliefs and practices denied the supernatural works and gifts of the Holy Spirit. A crisis time in his own life, however, caused him to revise his theology. Today his ministry is characterized by displays of the power of God in salvation as well as deliverance and healing. He lives in Boynton Beach, Florida.

Jack Taylor has a ministry that spans more than 54 years, during which he has witnessed various moves of God in revival. His life has been punctuated by encounters with the Holy Spirit that have changed his life and ministry. He is a frequent speaker in areas where revival has broken out, and he has a passion to see the church become Kingdomcentered and empowered by the Spirit. He and his wife, Friede, live near Melbourne, Florida.

His Word, His Power, His Spirit....

This book was sent to me by Bethany Publishing House and it is just an amazing read. After I read this I was like Wow. Many things were brought to light. Most times we expect the Power of God to work without us delving into His Word. Yet we need to have all 3 in combination to work together, in order for our Christian life to be in order.
Was blessed by this book and I will highly recommend it to anyone who wants to be blessed by the Spirit.

Great Book, If you are seeking what God has to offer

This book really expands on the importance of not only being equipped with knowledge of the bible but also the importance of being filled with the Holy Spirit which gives us power to serve God using the gifts that are accessible to us. The Holy Spirit also allows us to hear God’s voice, feel his love and enables us to live according to God’s will when we are obedient to His word, seeking what he has to offer. The author’s give amazing testimonies of their experiences with the Holy Spirit and how it came to be. I really enjoyed reading about the transformation of Tom’s life and how he was used by the Holy Spirit. That demonstrates God is always near and will place people in our lives for a season to fulfill a need. Truth is in the word, power is in the truth and Holy Spirit is in the power as mentioned in this book really sums it up. I believe after reading this book, many will pursue the Holy Spirit. It has helped me on my journey. Thanks Bethany House Publishing for the opportunity to read this book free of charge.
