We used Wordly  Wise 3000 before, but my son found it  frustrating. He had to ask me to explain some new words. Its passages are quite old and dry to read. Then I found Beestar, a website that provides practice programs for core subjects from math to language arts. I subscribed to the vocabulary program for him. It turned out that the weekly exercises and the vocabulary articles are very helpful. The informative articles provide opportunities for him to learn not only the new words but also interesting events in history. The website gives clear explanation for each new word. Now he has grasped a lot of new words in addition to those from her textbooks. As a parent, I can monitor her performance online any time. I did see his significant progress in the past year. We like the interactive online program better and will keep using it.

This is an excellent text to improve your child's ability to communicate by learning new words and their appropriate use for compositions and presentations.
