Overview

Collection of 450 poems

Chris's poetry is uplifting and contains a deep raw honesty. It seeks out the emotions of the person reading and takes you to places forgotten and new horizons yet to explore. His poetry stretches around the world providing a connection to all who enjoy his work. - Kerri Weaver - Australia

Chris's poetry is all inspiring and creates a picture whilst you read; I enjoy reading them and some I find very apt to how I'm feeling at any given day. - Louise Vyse - England

This collection of poetry constitutes an exceptional book of its type. I have to confess that it is always with a certain amount of trepidation that I begin to read a poetry manuscript because poetry is a much abused genre and the vast majority of people who think they can write poetry simply can't! Thus, it was with great pleasure and some relief that I began to read this collection and as I got deeper and deeper into the collection it became increasingly apparent that here we have a poet of rare ability. This is a wonderfully assembled and evocatively written set of poems which display not only a high degree of natural ability but also great familiarity of poetic techniques. This is a potent mix which the author uses to great effect. It is most certainly necessary to have such qualities since it presents itself in what is a very competitive genre. - Sara Jennings - England

Meet the Author

Chris was born in December 1955, the youngest of four. The first year of his life was away from his family as his mum had been taken ill after he was born. He was looked after by a set of nuns in Mortimer, Berkshire.

On returning to the family Chris found himself close to his brother Dave and sister Sue but no-one else. Sensitive to the angry undercurrent between his parents he took refuse in writing poems to express the mixed emotions he encountered at home.

Now in his late fifties, Chris writes short stories, song lyrics and cartoons as well as poems.
