Meet the Author

Christine Durst and Michael Haaren are longstanding leaders in the work-at-home arena.     A Good Place to Start

    With a 56-1 scam ratio in work-at-home ads, anyone seeking this kind of employment stands more of a chance of encountering fraud than the real deal. Work at Home Now helps the reader find the legitimate companies who hire people to work from their homes with great advice on how to spot the frauds.

    The book begins with a questionnaire to help the reader assess whether he or she is a good candidate for "telework" which is any work from an unconventional location such as one's home that requires the transmission of workflow through electronic communication. The authors give honest advice on the pros and cons of this kind of work arrangement. The main section of the book is a comprehensive listing of jobs by type and where to find them. I also found the tips on how to do a productive online search and how to use the big online job boards helpful, as well as the information on how to effectively apply for such jobs.

    Working from home is something I want to pursue and this book provided me with many places to start my search and put me at ease since I now know how to avoid the scams. The authors have done all the hard work for me by investigating which companies are good and which ones aren't. There are no guarantees that this book will help soemone land a job but it's a good place to start and is one I think anyone looking for a job or wanting to supplement their current income with a job from home would benefit from.
