Overview

Working to Live: Good Health 24/7 Starts From 9 to 5 is a small yet powerful book with the ability to influence a nation by engaging corporate leaders on the steps they can take to impact lasting change. "The single greatest impact we can have on the healthcare crisis in the United States is through workplace wellness programs," Nadeau writes. "Increasing wellness should be a primary initiative for leaders today."

There's a healthcare crisis in America. Viverae CEO Michael Nadeau believes the solution resides in the workplace - where people spend the majority of their day. "I know that if I can get corporate leaders to embrace holistic wellness and prevention programs for their employees, that people will live longer, get help when they need it, and enjoy happier, healthier lives without illness. Time away from the office will be reduced, and so will insurance claims. Insurance costs, medicine, prescription drug costs and all the very real issues and afflictions you read about will be minimized. The net effect? Individuals benefit, corporations reduce healthcare costs and increase productivity, and everyone wins."

Meet the Author

Health care advocate Michael Nadeau founded Viverae — formerly Elite Wellness — in 2003, in response to excessive utilization of health care plans and a generally unhealthy U.S. workforce. Nadeau brings 15 years of outsourcing and human resources experience to the company. Prior to Viverae, Nadeau worked for a Dallas-based human resources outsourcing company. There, he recognized the need for accountability in the workplace to keep employees healthier and reduce corporate spending on health care. Previously, he was an equity partner for Acuity Technology, an information technology (IT) consulting company in Dallas. A Boston native, Nadeau began his career in the Northeast, working in the software development, IT consulting and health care industries.

Nadeau has been recognized for his entrepreneurial spirit as a winner of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2009 award in the "emerging sector" category for the Southwest Area North region. Under his leadership, Viverae has been named one of the "Best Places to Work" by the Dallas Business Journal. Nadeau is an expert in corporate health care solutions, health management programs, health risk identification and employee health incentives.
