    more from this reviewer

    Highly recommended ebook for Nook

This is not a review of Dostoevsky, who is without a doubt one of the three greatest writers who ever lived (IMHO) along with Shakespeare and Cervantes. It goes without saying that the works contained in this huge ebook are among the best works of fiction ever penned. I am reviewing the format, which is to be highly recommended over cheaper, more inferior versions. The file, while large, is easily managed. You can access any chapter in any book without any problems. There are great "extras" that come along with the ebook, including an author's bio and bibiliographical index. It is less the five bucks and worth every cent. Avoid the cheaper, inferior Golgotha ebooks, and spend a little more to purchase the better Mobilereference ebooks for the Nook. You won't regret it.

    Needs some proofing and editing

I know this is a long book to proofread, but there are numerous errors and lengthy omissions of text in the short title I was reading, The Double, including mixing up the order of several chapters. I had to go to my paper copy to determine what was what. Navigation for this entire work is difficult if Chapter 1 is The Brothers Karamazov and Chapter 2 is Crime and Punishment. Incidentally, though The Double is part of this collection, it does not have an entry in the Table of Contents. So I mistrust the rest of the book and will just chalk up my $.99 purchase as a Nook learning error, archive this thing, and forget about it.

    Fyodor Dostoevsky

This is a very good collection. It includes Dostoevsky's major works such as Crime and Punishment, the Brothers Karamozov, The Gambler, The Idiot, and his amazing short works. His writings crackle with intelligence. Dostoevsky is very poignant and clearly articulates the feelings humans go through, including the inner confusion associated with everyday life. I really liked the ebook and would recommend it to anyone who likes great literature.

    Great work -- sketchy editing

Annoying editing errors detract from the reader's enjoyment of this masterful collection, and better translations are available. That said, this collection is still a real joy to read.

    highly recommended :-)

if you read only one of Dostoevsky's books, read Crime and Punishment. it is a remarkable work of sanity and insanity, love and hate and selfishness, but most of all, redemption. this author is a little on the depressing side, but so totally worth reading you will not be disappointed.

    Love it!

I'm surprised there aren't more lovers of Dostoevsky out there. Timeless and great to have in this format.

    Doesn't work on Blackberry

Great price for a great collection by a great author. Too bad my Barnes&Noble e-reader app won't let me open it.

    Buyer Beware.
